Help required with FAE please
    #28632846 - 01/24/24 05:16 AM (4 days, 2 hours ago)

Hi guys. I'd just like some advice on improving my FAE. As far as I can tell from reading posts and doing research online om getting it right. BUT as we can see I've got very fuzzy feet and some mycelium growth on the surface. I know its harmless but to my mind it shows room for improvement. As you can see I'm using a home made SGFC. I've holed all 4 sides plus the lid. I've got soaked perlite in the bottom. I'm wafting multiple times per day, giving the fruits a little mist each time (plus the sides of the chamber)

If anyone can help me improve things I'll be very grateful. (One thought ive had is that the holes could be bigger so I'm thinking I'll do that while the cake is soaking for its second flush)

Cheers guys.
Dylan out

They really don't look too bad. Trust me, fae isn't really an issue in a sgfc, they tend to dry out quickly if not dialled in properly.
I'd just stick with what you're doing for now, fuzzy is feet is nothing to be worried about.
Edit, zoomed in on the one pic and saw the words "heat mat" written on your notes. Don't use a heat mat, it will only dry out your sub faster and promote contams.

place some holes in the bottom and elevate it so air can flow under it

Agreed They look like happy healthy mushrooms, fuzzy feet aren't even present or bad here. When you dry that bit you won't even notice.

In my opinion, Trying too add fae to that small of a tub might have bad effects , Larger tubs can sneak more fae because they have a bit more water volume to work with.

Thanks for the reassurance.
Yeah I did away with the heat mat pretty early on after expanding my reading. Well spotted! Lol
