Did eventually get a few handfuls of bispo, the 32L tub still runs and the fruit keep sorta rolling in whenever they feel like it, no real flush structure, they just sorta pop and then other pins pop while those are maturing. All just becomes like one long flush
the other day

right now

I think maybe my conditions could have been better initially, but now I am getting better sized fruit slowly, caps wrinkle properly at maturity and drop spore properly and have proper morphology, so I feel like I am on the right track slowly
Unmodded tub is sorta hard for these but we are getting there with it. I know from this thread that insane results are possible. I am pretty obsessed, we will acheive something good eventually
also a question please fellas... This is a Pan Jam tub which has been consolidating for a couple days before being cased...

Think that big blotch is mycogone? gotta be some sort of fuckery I assume, but I am probably gonna case it anyway and see what happens, just wanna know what you guys think about it. The orange bit to the left is pretty typical of these when they are left to consolidate with high airflow fruiting conditions I have found, so that concerns me less. I don't have any high hopes but the casing is already made so...
Thanks guys, nice to see you all again

Is that an MS culture? Could account for the continuous flushes. I haven't worked with clones yet, so just a guess.
Speaking of clones!
Spawned 5 of my verm/poo/grain jars over the last two days. Mixed with equal parts coir to make four cups and put in 32 oz meal prep containers to colonize. One gifted TTBVI culture and four Bisporus clones that I'm running out for the first time.
The verm/poo jars took off compared to all my controls. I have a subtropicals jar on just rye berries that is nearly colonized. But my TTBVI, Nats, and other subtropicals culture have all been slow as shit because of the cold temps in my mycology room. The TTBVI control is probably at 30%. The TTBVI verm/poo jar on the other hand was the first to colonize and was spawned to bulk yesterday.
Room temps are probably running low 60s at night and high 60s to low 70s during the day. All my pan poo jars ran in under two weeks at these temps and were shaken early and again at 70-100%. After the last shake, all five jars recovered and finished colonizing within 48 hours.
When I prep more jars (might be a month or so) I'll take pictures.

I recently put four different Pan Cyan prints to agar, and they are all fuzzy, no rhizo. Is it generally known that they produce less rhizo mycelium on agar? It is also turning my blue plates red on the bottom...

PC in red, Ps. Mexican in blue...
edit: (the black bits are sediment in my agar)

Most Pan myc is very tomentose looking.
Take it to water agar to see the separate colonies better.

So just make up agar plates with no nutrients, then take samples from these plates? What will I be looking for?

Yes, exactly that. I just try to select something healthy looking to begin with but you can see different colonies sometimes so taking a few different colonies would be a good idea. You should be able to see the change in pattern as it grows out and intersects with different patterns/growth.

Some spawn (50/50 manure/wheat) from SSLC, colonized in pretty much a week. Myc looks super happy, smells nice. Spawning tomorrow.
After shake:

This spawn is from a clone I made from my first tub (that failed). I hope it will do better than the second grow that is going right now from the same (MS) genes as the tub, can't say that I am impressed with this, although still happy to see healthy Panaeolus fruits. The quest for a nice flush continues.

Bonus photo, what I think are Panaeolus blobs (?) on agar. I cut it open because I didn't know what I was looking at, but it looks and feels like mushroom tissue.

First time growing them. Does this shoebox look contaminated or is the green and blue just bruising?
Are this pins in the first picture?

Thanks guys!
When I grew TTBVI last year, this is what they looked like:

My current culture looks very different -- and not nearly as beautiful. Is this due to different genetics? The growing conditions are pretty similar between last year and this year.

Just looks like a different Pheno. Maybe you didn’t let the ones last year go as long so they didn’t open out and flatten their caps.
Gotta be honest, I prefer the Pheno of how your current grow looks. Got that classic pan cap with those angry ass gills that always remind me of the bit in home alone 1 when he goes down to the basement and looks at the furnace.
