Grain Jars With Wet Spots Straight Out of The PC?

I follow Bod's EZ grain guide pretty closely. Use the producers pride oats that are recommend, they look good and clean before boiling and after. Then I let the grains all dry on a big screen rack I made and run a fan under them for a few hours so they're not too wet.

I PC with standard water plus extra qt for 2 hours, let cool off in PC for 12-24 hours and then take them out. A lot of times they look like this

With darkish looking oats and wet spots that appear bacterial.. fresh out of the PC?
Do these jars look terrible? Any ideas? Thanks.

Looks absolutely normal for feed oats. Shake them up when you take the jars out to redistribute the moisture, it will get adsorbed soon.
Here are a couple of mine

Yeah theyll look like that after cooking. shake em up real good. but if those wet spots are still there or if theres pooling of water at the bottom after it sitting for a while from shaking. dont use it. too much water... you can always do that napkin test before loading for PCing

word, thanks for the responses guys! ok cool.
Never really have an issue with pooling water, more or less just some wet lookin grains pressed up against the glass.
Bod's tek says to boil the grains for 30-40 min.. i usually do the full 40, guess I'd prob be better off only 30?

Try cutting a single piece of grain and see if its cooked all the way you want it. Ive seen ppl use whole wheat berries boiled till only a spec is not fully cook in the core of the grain you can see when cut. try that out. dont even soak em just rinse really well and straight to boil.
