I actually remember seeing your post showing the substrate with the bald spot. I noticed that the lids you had on those trays had a lot of condensation on them. Maybe the bold spot is where the water kept dripping onto the substrate making it soaking wet in that area which could have caused or contributed to your problems. Usually if things don't fruit or abort easily I suspect a mold causing the problems.
Forgot to mention about the condensation on my last grow. I keep making dryer and dryer substrates. Sometimes I'll do some trays a little dryer than others experimentally. But on these ones I probably went dryer than ever. When doing the squeeze test I could barely get a drop of water out if that. That's the other reason I suspected bacteria but maybe mold could cause this condensation too. Probably.

Not sure about standard BVI but I had .5 last night and was well impressed, was like having 1.5g ghost but the visuals were just a bit better, definitely my new favourite go to variety.
Nice. I did 0.7G of those BVI and was catapulted in what I like to call ‘N64 Land’ literally like being inside an N64 game. Everything was all blocky and everything was made up of polygons with real bright vivid, almost water colour kind of vibes. Was pretty mind blowing. Equivalent all day to 4g APE’s

😂sick! I know a few people that have ended up in minecraft, one tried mining through his wall “~” I reckon my latest grows which are a lot healthier will probably level up again, here I was, about to throw myself into a few ghost grows, which I still love mind you, and now these pans are completely throwing me off my game!

TTBVI are same as BVI, I sent one of my BVI print to Gordotek and as I explained him it was a guy named TamarindTreeBVI who found wild specimens and did the first wild prints Gordo called them TTBVI (so BVI = TTBVI even like any multi-spores some variations can occurs…)

That makes sense! I know BVI had been round a while and then suddenly this TTBVI pops up. I thought the story was it was found under a Tamarind tree or something.
Good to know though V.L. Thanks for dropping the knowledge!

I stretched spawn ratios further than my comfort level on these runs after speaking with another member here about it. Initially because fruits looked like giraffes. My normal is 1:3, or 1:2 sometimes, but I started pushing to between 1:5, 1:6 and even as high as 1:10.
I'm not certain what those pictures were spawned at now, I tossed the notes with the trays but I'm not sure it helped with the lanky stipes and small caps. BVI and what i was calling ttbvi grew identical for me. After seeing some other recent bvi/TTBVI grows, im now not certain what exactly is keeping mine so scrawny looking.

These bvi(s) also seem to be the only strain(s) that cause this excessive bluing throughout the substrate for me. Sometimes it seems to affect fruits nearest to it and begins melting away the mushrooms from the base upward. Sometimes it looks to be just bruising and sometimes I think it could be more of a mold. But again, I've only ever noticed this on the bvi variations.
This one started midway on the 1st flush and I think is just bruising, this is the 2nd flush and all the mush are the healthiest I've ever grown of bvi. Not the largest, but there hasn't been any aborts or stem bluing prior to maturing.

These next couple Im not sure. Except for the last one, I know what those colors are lol.

Those are some great photos/observations. I have seen this kind of bruising and fruits aborting as well and halve the time could undoubtedly relate it to mold.
Posted these photos before but might as well post them again with yours.

About to case these. Stoked to see how fast they pop up. BVI is quickly becoming one of my favorite strains to grow.

Looks like I could probably get a transfer from this water agar plate inoculated on the 16th. But will probably let it grow out just a bit more. Unfortunately growth doesn't look much better. Still pretty unorganized but going to give this culture one more try.
Edit: made this plate a few days later and it actually looks pretty organized so will probably transfer from this one instead.
