Hello everyone! I have a question. Im fruiting an all in one bag (no more bag) in a shotgun chamber. 3” of perlite. Temp averaging around 74 to 76 f with an under tank heater. I have a light on a 12/12 schedule. Looks like i have good primordia but at day 9 im not seeing pins yet. I mist and fan a few times a day but no matter what i do i cant seem to get the humidity over 75%. Am i ok with that amount? Thanks!

Welcome to the Shroomery
Don´t make too much science bro. Your fruiting chamber could look like this instead of hassling around with an SGFC.
Forget about hygrometers, you only care for this, and just with your eyes. You don´t mist on schedule, only if needed.

This usually leads to a matted surface, resulting in poor or zero pinning.
I also recommend to skip that heater. It´s a heating mat right? Partial heating is a call for trouble, you´ll dry your cake out from the bottom. Use a space heater, but i bet you don´t need to. Tell us your temps.
A lighting cycle doesn´t hurt, but i´d only start that short to primordia. Ambience from a window is sufficient.
And yeah, we want pics

Thanks! Yeah its been a minute since ive done this so i know half my issue is patience. The blue on here is bruising from when i moved it into the tub. It isnt contam. Temps stay around 74 to 76 w the heater. The room is about 71 or 72 bc i have snakes in there also on a cycle.

I can assure you you won´t have benefits with a SGFC setup like this. I just recommend a water tub for now.

Is this a kit or did you put it together? Snakes? That’s interesting.
Edit: there are snakes.

Diy. I had one similar in the past but that was years ago. It was also in a lot more humid climate and i feel like that made things a little easier

Ok. Im not as familiar with the water tub tek. But basically i should dunk for 24hrs, dry and coat with hydrated coir, and then put on a rack in a sealed tub with 1” of water? Then crack after new mycelium has populated? Sounds pretty cool, just use ambient light, how do you heat the water or do you?

Don't heat the water, 65 to 75 is pretty much perfect temps. And that cake is it grains mixed with coir? A big PFtek cake? Just grains? Sorry just trying to know what I'm looking at haha. But depending on what it is will determine if you should dunk it. Like if it's grain with coir I wouldn't recommend a 24hr dunk. Maybe 4 hours or so but even then could probably just coat it in fresh coir and place in the tub. If it's a giant pftek cake you could dunk for 24hrs then put it in. If it's just a pile of grains idk what to do at this point cuz that's not really recommended.
But ya the water tub is super easy just a tub that has water in it, feel free to add more then 1 inch of water. In dryer climates ive seen people use like 3 inches it definitely wont hurt anything. Place your substrate block in there and let it do its magic. We do kinda recommend to give fae ( fresh air exchange) from the beginning and not to seal it completely but mateja the maker of that thread hasn't been around for a while so it hasn't changed. Idk if he would change it anyway he's got a certain way he likes to do stuff and doesn't always go with the grain so to speak haha.
