That thing is awesome, I would happily stir a few cultures to death just for my personal visual enjoyment.
Looks stunning, well done!

It's like a living lava lamp. Maybe i should add a speaker and play some Asmr sounds in the background.

Love the craftsmanship, it's so cool to see what you can do with CNC and 3D printers.
I've wanted to get into that for awhile now but I'm old school and the AutoCAD seems like it would take me longer than just using a table saw or circular saw for something your only going to build once.
I never thought of cutting MDF with a laser. I should check out YT I guess. I had a 1.2w blu ray laser pointer years ago(weak now) but you could melt plastic, burn paper, light matches, pop balloons ect...
Does it cut in an oxygen free environment where the MDF can't catch fire? Sorry I'm being lazy instead of researching. I know industrial lasers are usually the opposite end of the spectrum as infrared 40+watt crazy stuff but it's been years since I've even looked into it. Probably weak today.

I have acess to a 40 watt CO2-laser. The mdf doesn't burn, there is a nozzle blowing air at the spot where the cutting happens. MDF is no problem. PMMA is a little bit tricky, because the protective foil likes to catch fire if you don't watch it.

ASMR sounds would be a definite enhancement, maybe you can cross link the pots to a synthezier and get an interactive sound carpet going
What are your pots called? Are they controlling the motor speed via PWM? I am looking for some of those as I have build something similar but wasn't thinking of the computer fans not responding well to regular pots. Mine looks a little bit less boutique though.

Ah yes thank you CO2 laser prevents it from catching fire while absorbing the infrared light as energy. I figured it had to be an oxygen free environment to keep it from catching fire.

Just search for PWM 1803bk and you will find them. They are pretty cheap, around 1.50€/$.

This build is so cool for so many ways, I swear God is at work all the time and this popped up at the perfect time to maybe have fun in other ways just by the things you can do with CNC and 3D printing. Microchips and circuit boards can be had for a couple dollars these days.
You could 3D print a mouse trap of sorts that could turn on a Bluetooth radio by means of a 5 pin relay to let you know you have caught a mouse instead of having to put out poison.
I know there are other mouse traps that you can buy that don't alert you or whatever...
It sucks I know it's only a mouse right? But the poor little mouse ends up burrowing it's way into a house when it gets cold outside at times only to be tricked into eating poison so they don't cause major damage and repopulate endlessly without you knowing they are even there at times.
It would be more fun to catch, feed and release the mouse after the storm in the wild at the river in a fishing spot where a bird or snake could benefit from a meal instead of a dead mouse going to waste.
At least it could live it's days out until it gets eaten, unfortunately for the mouse it's on the bottom of the food chain and that's basically it's purpose to repopulate quickly and in mass numbers to be food for things higher up on the food chain.
Life has just been difficult at times and I don't have a 3D printer or money at the moment, I have lots of old printers that I would like to take apart one day and build a 3D printer with the stepper motors and other parts but it's going to take awhile for me to learn how to get it all to work together including software...I might not ever get around to it.
It would be fun to work on creating an AutoCAD design one day to print such mousetrap and seeing this project really inspired me to try and do things differently since technology can offer different options these days.
I can't express how cool your project is, the simplicity and diy makes it fun to create your own tools.
It's fun to dream right? I know the chances of this mousetrap may never come to be but this is a really cool community and there are lots of smart people who might have fun working on a project together, either to further their learning or out of boredom.
Sorry not to hijack your thread just dreaming of stupid stuff...
Mice are highly intelligent it would seem for being so small and they are similar to a rabbit, which I happened to find one early morning out fishing and it came up to me as a baby rabbit like a little kitten and I wrapped it up in my shirt and starting waking home. It's been an interesting time bonding and trying to understand a rabbit compared to something easy like a dog...and I can't help but feel bad for the poor little mouse...it sounds stupid I know
Anyways thank you again for your post. Very clean build that looks professional

Here’s my little “gem”. Got an eBay for like $25 because the seller claim didn’t work. The reason it didn’t work is that the little belt inside it was broken. I bought three of them for about 30 bucks and now it is happily chugging away. I have it connected to an auto timer on for about one minute every 12 hours. I suspect that should be sufficient to break up any mycelial accumulations.

Hi!
The quadruple stirrer is pretty large so i made a dual-stirrer and also changed the motors from mabuchi 12560 to EG-530. They are much quieter and don't need to be balanced with small magnets to be calm. Here is the CAD-data for the dual stirrer in stp and f3d. Dual magnetic stirrer
Have fun!
