Hello all. I've got some reishi blocks forming antlers right now. Not sure how much longer they'll get. They're cloned from some reishi I found outside. Also got some lions mane about ready for harvest
Would it be safe to slowly introduce these mushrooms into my dogs diets. They're Yorkies if that makes a difference and they would be given very small amounts at first to see how they react.
Edit: I'll probably just ask my vet now that I think about it but if anyone has experience with giving dogs non psilocybin medicinal mushrooms, I'd be interested to know. My dog has been getting gas lately and I'm trying to find something to aid his digestion as well as overall health.

You should go back to your dog's diet for the gas issue, adding mushrooms is unlikely to help.

Well I already switched both my dogs to iams pro digestion. It's definitely is helping. Not getting diarrhea anymore but still a little gassy. So calling the vet tomorrow to set up an appointment maybe bring a stool sample and ask him about the mushrooms. I realize that it won't likely help with the digestive issue. But I'm also interested in overall health and just wanted to give some information about my situation in case someone could help. You never know. One mushroom I believe I read can help with digestion is turkey tail. It actually grows naturally in my mom's yard but not this time of year. Thanks for your reply though.
