King Trumpets at room temp?
    #28626731 - 01/19/24 04:36 AM (9 days, 12 hours ago)

I tried some King Trumpets over the winter while I had cool temperatures outside for it (65F highs).  I love them - maybe my favorite mushroom.  Now I want to grow more but it will start warming up and it will be too warm both indoors and outdoors.  I don't want to create a refrigerated room just for them so I was wondering if anyone had success in warmer temperatures?  Like maybe putting the block in a refrigerator to start fruiting and then moving to the warmer clime of an indoor Martha tent?  Will that work?

Forrester used a fridge to initiate pins and then fruit at room temp:

Yeah overnight in the fridge usually works, one or two nights and regular temps during the day.  If you can't fit it in a fridge the ice pack might work, I dunno it's really strain dependant.  But once you get pins they should grow fine after that.

My grow room is at 52 degrees right now (not by choice), and the only species thriving are my trumpets. I'd say 50-60 is the sweet spot.
