I’m not even reading your stuff anymore. Instead, I’ll just re-post my earlier comment (see below), which summarizes the position.

I’ve seen this sort of trolling against people before, on other forums on other topics. One individual takes residence, posting again and again and again against the OP, and usually anyone who contradicts them. It goes on forever, and is toxic, destructive of the thread and damaging to the forum.

I’m not taking your bait. Hopefully the above noise will be moderated.

It's not difficult to superficially (and incorrectly) tear down 12 years of anyone's work, and after four lengthy comments shooting at anyone who disagrees, you seem to be particularly determined to have a go. Much of what you write there is just ridiculous.

Anyone can do this with any book. I mean, that Shulgin chap, only covering psychedelics, monolithic layout and not even any photographs in there. And as for that Mckenna fella, I bought his book 'Food of the Gods' and there's no mention of hallucinogenic fish (sarpa salpa)! Totally useless the pair of them.

It's a lot harder to actually do the work and make the effort. It's also worth pointing out that after 638 pages I had to stop at some point. So many people are suffering, right now, today, for lack of access to even the most basic of information. Hopefully this project will continue to reach more of them. Perhaps a more positive use of your time would be to lend a hand.

If you believe that you can do a better job, I look forward to seeing it sometime in the future. As I prefer to be productive I'm not going argue further with you.

Finally, for everyone else reading this, remember that the PDF is free: please do download it and see for yourself. Above all... stay safe. :-)

And I ask again, why is the work missing so much vital life saving information about drug use?

Why did you choose to claim it is about harm reduction and not include most of the information that is relevant to harm reduction?

Feel free to complain to moderators, I expect more than one has a strong dislike for me. I've had that impression for sure.

Still, they tend to be reasonable and I will abide by their advice.

I forgot: in cases like this, the perpetrator must always have the last word, and the pesky moderators always cop some flack too. Classic trolling pattern.

Case closed.

If I wrote up some of the harm reduction information that your work is missing and sent it to you, would you include it in the work?

I will even give you permission to pass it off as your own, so that you need not give me any credit.

It's free ebook. You don't have to like it, you can criticize it, you did that... but the author has a damn good point when he tells you to go write your own and sell\give it away if you think you can do better. You're not his editor, he doesn't have to live up to your expectations.

Again, you are still not his editor. Maybe if you'd approached him in good faith in PM you guys could have worked together. I don't see that happening now.

It's a trip report tome, not a harm reduction tome.

Presenting it as harm reduction seems incredibly egotistical and dishonest to me.

If it was presented as a type of Trip Report Encyclopedia then I wouldn't have an issue.

I'm on the older side and have a lot of friend who are dead, who could have been saved by good information, but this book doesn't have that kind of info and it is offensive to me to claim that it motivated by an effort to save lives.

I'm not alone in this opinion.

You said that. You are repeating your opinion again rather than contributing.

Fair enough.

To quote the Author:

Remember that ignorance kills, education saves lives.

That is exactly my point.

I'll disengage from this now.

With that, hopefully I can now engage with other members.

For those interested in the history of this book, the following Substack article might be of use:
https://open.substack.com/pub/dmtrott/p/drugs-the-darknet-and-the-media-my

This describes the development of the original book, with focus upon the last six months: the release of the PDF version and the subsequent launch of an initiative which became known as The Darknet Harm Reduction Project.

The broad idea was to enable harm reduction material (the book) to be offered, without charge, to drug consumers at point of drug purchase.

As is the nature of education, this is still a work in progress. Please do feel free to share wherever you feel it might be helpful.
