I figured it was a no go but thought I would ask.
If a sponsor, like worldseedsupply, sells cacti, this means that users cannot do so, correct? It doesn't matter if the user has a cactus species or clone that is not available from the sponsor, right?
I assume that because there is a blanket ban on the sales of spores, regardless of if a user has spore types that are not offered by a sponsor, that the same basic thing applies to cacti.
World seed supply has some cactus seed, but they are out of stock on a number of types listed on their page. I assume that this too doesn't matter. That even selling something that a vendor/sponsor doesn't actually have and so cannot sell is forbidden if they list it as something they once had and sold. Is this correct?
I had an offer some time ago by a member who asked about buying cacti, but I assume that this is not an actual option we are allowed to have here.
Does this apply to Morning Glory seeds as well? Even if they are of a species or form that no sponsor offers, if a sponsor offers some type of seed, or did in the past and they are now out of stock, this means that users cannot sell such things, correct?
World seed supply, again, sells some Ipomoea species, like I. nil, I purpurea and I tricolor. I have several types of nil that they don't have, they only offer Scarlet O'Hara, which is a type of nil, but they also have it mislabeled as a form of I. tricolor. So what about that, they sell a type of I. nil that is mislabeled as a form of I. tricolor, so does that mean users cannot sell Ipomoea nil here? I have Ipomoea amnicola seeds and Ipomoea cardiophylla seeds, both interesting and active species, which no sponsor here sells, but I assume that because world seed supply sells Ipomoea seeds I am not allowed to do so here, regardless of the type or species, just as is the case with regard to spores.
The same thing applies to Capsicum, say I have some superhot pepper seeds of a type that World Seed Supply does not have, because they sell pepper seeds users cannot do so here even if people are unable to obtain those types of seeds from the sponsor. Right?

So the thing is, we just don't want to see folks undermining our Sponsor program by circumventing the review process to setup shop selling things in the Marketplace. The Marketplace is intended to be something along the lines of a combined garage sale / flea market / buynothing / trade culture.
By all means, you are more than welcome to post seeds and cacti and pert near anything else that our sponsors sell, so long as it is clear that you are offering them up a trade item, and you're not just slapping a sale price on them and trying to move high volumes of product. If in the course of trading with folks, someone doesn't have anything you'd like to trade for and they offer you a few bucks, we're not going to raise a stink about it. Just don't advertise sponsor-like products for outright sale or make a habit of moving a huge amount of the same items, and there shouldn't be an issue.
