moving poppies in pots from warm to cold

Global warming my ass! Some areas of the U.S.A. are seeing new record lows. So long story short this is the first year that I tried to grow poppies and I have about a dozen or so in pots above the ground. They are small, like just 2 inches or less. I do know they don't like transplanting so when I upsize the pots or put in the ground I will carefully cut and remove the plastic pot so as to damage as few roots as possible. But on to the problem....
There are some low temps coming here between 10 and 20 and that's what it says online that poppies will die at. So I brought them indoors where it's about 70F, for a couple days until this passes. They have been outside, and in freezing temps before so they are so of in dormant mode maybe? Some of the leaves have turned purple, is that normal? but they are still alive and show some green. I think the lowest these have been exposed to is maybe 25F so far this year.
Since I will be shocking them between cold weather dormancy as seedlings outside, and indoor temps. ... Will a couple days inside "wake them up" and then when I move them back outside, a normal freeze like 30F or so kill them?
What I really need to do is find a good place outside to Guerrilla grow them, but I haven't yet. Because, if they are in the ground 10-20 could be ok with a bunch of mulch and covering right?
Thank you anyone for any help or guidance I know I asked a bunch of questions so any help will do!

Man, years ago I lived on the gulf coast, and one year we got temps down in the teens! Luckily all my poppies were in pots, and I just brought them all in and put them in my garage for a few days under florescent lights.
When the cold snap passed, I put them all back outside, and they weren't even phased.
Don't worry they will be fine

This is great information! I think that pretty much settles it except one thing. I will not have these under lights and they will be in darkness some. Will this mess them up and trigger flowering or something? Like you said though, I think even the light thing will be ok right?

That should not mater at all, and the purple is just due to the cold temps as you already know.
As long as they are alive they will recover and still grow when you put them back outside
I also doubt that it will mess them up with them being so small.
Do you have any pics by any chance?
Oh, and keep us posted
