Clean space and making sure that you don't have to worry about anyone calling you, or showing up, etc. Just making sure that you got your T's crossed and your I's dotted.

Miles deep in the wilderness of the ADKs, alone, sitting by the fire, a loon’s eerie call echoing through the soundscape as a stiff breeze comes out of nowheres to stir the embers of the fire into a rising vortex of sheer sorcery.

The first two replies really hit the nail on the head for me. Nothing is more comfortable to me than the outdoors while tripping. Also since I have little ones, making sure nothing will come up and that I have no responsibilities or things undone to worry about is huge. Going to the mountains in February for my next trip. I would add that your set can have a huge impact right off the bat. Going into it with most emotions tends to work itself out by the end of the trip, but sometimes anxiety and fear can linger. I try to get myself in a state where I’m ready to accept whatever happens, good or bad and be grateful for the lessons I will receive. Even if I had to learn the hard way, lol.

Hats off to you if you can pull that off. I'd be OK with that as long as it was level 2.5 or below, otherwise all those strange sounds, the thought of isolation, and potential dangers might turn the trip bad for me personally. But hey, I could just like, bring a big spear or something right?

My best experiences all combined dancing with psychedelics. I know that might seem strange but there is something wonderful about it to me.
That even counts dancing alone to music on mushrooms.
My worst were always when I was around people I didn't trust.

Yes dancing on shrooms when you feel it is amazing! So is music. having a good soundtrack works sometimes too to take you into a deep trip.

I usually just lay in my bed for 6 hours with my eyes closed in the dark. I put together a playlist of links to YouTube guided meditations or music. Sometimes I use earbuds or an eye mask.
It helps to have all your chores and errands finished. Have some snacks ready. Silence your phone. Maybe use airplane mode. Maybe meditate or show gratitude beforehand.
Good luck

Yeah very solid advice. I usually end up laying down in med at least some, but never the full 6 hours but for sure usually during the peaks. I've done what you've said before though and it's nice.

Nature with rocks around, but not big enough to fall off of. I’m always on the lookout for trip spots and low-key renegade camping cuttys. It’s best to set your tent up before you dose

tripping lightly with familia all around me, while I'm not impaired but enlivened by the notching up the flow of flux's glow by just enough so as to be appropriate wrt the situation.
also: tripping furthermore on relatively more of whichever/whatever*insert psychedelic* only more deeply but without as much disturbance around.
ie. set up well and prepped in advance in terms of safety first + solitude.

I find it really depends. But overall, I would say at-home, on a weekend or holiday, at night, is one of the best methods. You can really focus inward and are very likely to have a wonderful, introspective, powerful trip.
My other favorite is at an outdoor music festival during the Summer. Its so freeing and open, with lots of other people tripping too and having a good times. Its Heavenly.
Both are great settings for me. But for heavy trips, I prefer at-home alone, with no obligations to do.

Definitely far out in the woods with one or two very trusted people. Camp already setup. Someplace durable and comfortable ready so rutting in the dirt isn't needed when it's time to go internally and things are getting clumsy. A fire is nice, if it can be maintained easily and safely. Drinks and snacks easily accessible. No music unless it is someone singing or playing it right there.
Having walked 5-10 miles already that day with a heavy pack to center me and blow off surface level stresses.
Could start daytime or dusk, but prefer not to start in darkness in this setting.
This is my preferred setting for a journey. Have made it happen several times.

In the woods, by myself but friends nearby.
Sitting on a bucket, very dark and very noisy. But only the sounds of the noisy forest. Drizzle falling through the leaves. Animals making sounds. It wasn't a quiet night but my friends were out of earshot.
Hit the DMT vape a couple of times and followed the buzzing body sensations out through my feet and into the forest floor. Coreless boundless. No sense of thought. No sense of ego. Just sensation with no center. The sounds of the forest. The darkness. And giant undulating visuals.
That was the setting.
The set was enough meditation practice that I could stay with the body sensations. And the knowing that DMT is short and I'll be safe chilling on a bucket by myself for a few minutes and wouldn't be disturbed. Also, had been taking little DMT snacks all night and was in a great mood for a breakthrough. Plus, generally having a good time with friends at a group camp out.

Being at the house where I grew up. A great house with great memories, across the street from a river in the forest.

Totally agree! Exercise like above mentioned hike or bike ride really helps me give in to the experience and not panic with the come up.

Light doses with family is a blast. Especially if you have young children I love watching them and going into their little make believe world. Playing and talking with them you will really get onto their imaginative level and love it.
I was watching my middle play with some little things in a little dollhouse thing. I was so into watching her play that when one fell off a ledge i jumped and went oh no!!! Haha
You see all the beauty. You also see through their issues so to speak. They’ll make more sense. Things that might bug you roll off with compassionate understanding.
But higher doses I like to be home and alone with the phone on silent and hidden away.

They were all the best
I mean yeah the classic on a remote mountain by a huge waterfall yada yada
or yeah that beuatiful canyon with the full moon and the river near by and blah blah
but that time the abusive grandpa was berating and yelling at his grandson, or the time in Nepal when someone was beating a young monkey probably taught me more than those beautiful waterfalls
I wouldn't recommend chasing difficult experiences
well ok probably the best was bringing my dying grandomther to the beach one last time, wheeled her out in the wheel chair and the oxygen tank, got her toes in the water and was there with her while she said goodby to one of her favorite things, the ocean
yeah that one
