Tripping again after a nearly two decade break and dealing with challenging waves.

Hey there everyone!
About a year and a half ago I posted here for the first time regarding going off SSRI’s in order to trip again. I had started feeling the call and was disappointed when I got my hands on some and they were inhibited by my meds. Fast forward to several months later where I had a successful and intense and beautiful first trip back on 2g of penis envy. Absolutely blew my mind and I couldn’t believe I had stayed away for so long. I’ve been fortunate to have since experienced a handful of wonderful journeys since. My last trip several months ago turned out to be very challenging. Hard to call it a full on bad trip but it was very unpleasant. I know it was my mindset that put things off. After I ate them that day I had the thought that I did not in fact want to trip. As a result the majority of my experience was filled with resistance on my part. Ive had several instances since that last trip where I thought I might journey at one time or another but ended up refraining. I’ve since been meditating again and spending allocated time away from distractions and finding a greater sense of peace being alone with my thoughts. It’s made it easier for me to recognize thought patterns that arise and my familiarity with them has brought with it a greater sense of comfort even while observing less favourable ones. All this to say that as a result I’ve been feeling extremely excited about my next trip that I hope to take at the end of next week. Anyone out there in the community know some good playlists they swear by? Also, has anyone ever taken an extended break from mushrooms? If so how did it feel for you getting reacquainted?
Thanks so much for reading.
Grow on my friends!

Be easy my friend, as these thoughts will pass. In my own mind facing death I felt fear and also passion.
I feel you need time to process what actually happened versos what you perceive happened. Is there a difference?
I look forward to your reply on the subject.

Did you mean I need time to process my challenging trip? If so, you are right, I absolutely needed time to process. I’ve taken several months to really get a grip on the experience and this is why I now feel ready and excited to embark on my next journey. As far as the difference between what actually happened and what I perceived to have happen there will always be a difference to some degree. I’m just glad I had all this time to reflect on my experience and feel genuinely enriched by it at this point. Thanks so much for your comment my friend!
Be well!

For good playlists and mixes look for Hugo Kant's stuff on Youtube.
That's if you like trip-hop or nujazz. I think its some of the best tripping music I've found. Right up there with Shpongle.

I can’t stand any sort of technology on psychedelics. During the after glow I’ll listen to songs I love on an awesome Bluetooth speaker I have. During though I can not stand external stimulus. I can’t comprehend how people watch TV/movies or use the internet. I want nothing to do with any of it. I can feel the attempted influencing and or manipulation. Get it away from me lol

Haha I hear that my friend! I find it impossible to navigate technology most of the time while tripping. I too tend to find it frustrating to engage with. But I truly enjoy the synesthesia experience while listening to music!
Thanks friend!

You can also make things smoother during the come up by either sipping mushroom tea for 10 to 15 minutes (that's what i do with my oral DMT-containing teas at least), or by adding 3 to 4.5 grams of dried Lemon Balm leaf tea to the mix, or add Lemon Balm tea and sip the mushroom tea, that way the come up is smoother/gentler and it makes things more user-friendly and less challenging, which imo there's a time for challenge but there's also a time for just reconnecting and not having to worry about going through intensity and such.

That sounds really nice! I’ve never actually ingested mushrooms as a tea. I know drinking it is a popular method. I will need to look up how to make it properly but that sounds like an interesting approach.
Thank you so much for the advice my friend!
