Any advice on what could be causing the leaves to turn brown and dry up ? A very almost black dark brown and it's the oldest leaves and seems to be traveling up
It's starting to look bad
I think the black sugar is okay for now , I am really hoping it doesn't start looking like this ol bagseed
Could it be lack of fertilizer? I have not fertilized either of them yet
I cannot figure it out I'm trying Google but it seems like there are sooo many things that it could be, makes me slightly feel overwhelmed Either way I'm going to keep at it and keep trying and succeed
That is not a lack of fertilizer in my opinion.

Well I am going to buy some fertilizer today or Friday hobbit , noticed you use growdots and recharge, would those be worth getting? Or should I look into some vegetative fertilizer?
Also looking into grow tents with all the bells n whistles or whatever..
https://www.spider-farmer.com/products/new-sf2000-led-grow-light-2x4-grow-tent-kits/
Is that a decent setup ?
@towns you don't think it's lack of fertilizer? What do you think?
Thank you all in advanceš

What kind of soil are you sing and how much do you water? It might be a nutrient deficiency, but I never feed my seedling until they get several sets of leaves, and even then. they really dont need it.
I, myself, would re-pot them in a bigger pot, and I'd bury a an inch or so of the stems in the soil to stabilize them better.
I'd feed them after too, but I would start out with half strength fertilizer, or less, until they adjust.
I'd also put a fan on them too, to strengthen their stems.
That is, if it were I

I'm new to growdots and recharge. This is my 1st run using them. I know a lot of people use recharge.
Yeah idk if I would feed the tall sprout but the other one is bigger. I guess feeding would be jumping the gun if they are real young.
What town77 said is good way to go.
We need to know how you water, do you PH it, what soil are you in, what kind of lights are they getting.
My advice to feed them was premature.

It's in a 50% perlite and 50% peat moss soil , I'm going to order some fox farms today
When I water I just water enough to where the pot has some weight and I wait till it's pretty light and dry till watering again
I'm going to be getting a lot of supplies come February growbags , tent, etc...
I have a spray bottle to water now, just been using tap water for now and no ph adjustments that could be an issue... maybe get spring water?
I'll have a look at the light when I get home I bought it for my peyote, it's a t5 6400k something or another

Nah man, you're right
I forget that I use rain water/RO water for all my plants, plus I use organic soil.
I think his problem is most likely nutrient related due to that low nutrient soil mix and that nasty tap water!
The tap water alone, I'm sure is the culprit. Toxic chlorine/chloramine overload, as well as the all the other thousands of deadly chemicals that they pump into that crap to kill us
However, that, is a whole other story, hehehe,

So I had issues with FF soil, I used the Ocean Forrest and was successful with 5 plants, then 2 others had massive issues which may or may not have been soil or I somehow overdid fertilizer I am not totally sure.
I swapped to a new soil though and did the same stuff I had been doing and it worked fine so my thought is it's likely the fox farm ocean Forrest soil I used

Everyone complains about that soil. I've personally never had any issues due the that soil. I have added a bag or 2 in my reused soil before to freshen it up and to replace soil loss.
I use an inline filter for my tap water, then I aerate it in a 2x 5gal buckets until I use it. (Few days)

Can I ask some opinions?
Iām going to be growing for the first time come this spring⦠Outdoor grow, zone 7a Low cost, but will spend bit on decent soil.
Planing on using local foraged seaweed compost tea as nutes and a diluted Rustica tobacco spray as a pest control option.
Any thought, experience with this approach?

Daily update. Gave them some ph'd water only today. Watering every 4 days right now. They seem to be noticeably growing so I'm happy with the results once they got settled in their new homes. I actually started to give them an hour of the UV/IR in the morning and in the evening.

I'm going to try and do it the whole grow, with longer times in flower.

Looking good Hobbit!
How many gallons are those pots? Are they the final size?

I've never used tobacco for pest control but I am interested to see how that works. Personally, I probably wouldn't chance using something that I wasn't certain about. Keep us posted if/when you do use that spray.

Thx. They are the final pots. They are 7gal and 5gal. Maybe 4 are 7gal and 3 are 5gal. I'm using growdots and you mix them with the soil, so I wanted to go from solo cups to final pot. Now I shouldn't have to add anymore nutrients. Just weekly recharge. So far it all sounds good, let's see how they turn out. Then I'll know how good growdots are or how much to use.

Yeah they are a programmed-released plant food.
One application will last 4-6wk veg & 10wk flower. For the whole cycle. Water only after.
