This bill permanently places fentanyl-related substances as a class into schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act. A schedule I controlled substance is a drug, substance, or chemical that has a high potential for abuse; has no currently accepted medical value; and is subject to regulatory controls and administrative, civil, and criminal penalties under the Controlled Substances Act.

Taking this drug away from people who have a legitimate need for it is not going to do anything about it on the street. These are two different supply chains.

I worked with elderly people in chronic pain. I was there when the DEA got more strict about doctors prescribing opiates, and I watched people who were in their final years, in very bad pain lose access to something that gave them relief. I watched people in tortuous pain and there was nothing I could do.

I also had a friend with fibromyalgia who could only function with oxy. He spent two years trying to find a way to just be able to do normal things once in a while, and he decided to kill himself because he no longer had any way to function.

These articles are poorly written and confusing and keep reading like fentanyl is being banned, it's not

"fentanyl-related substances"

Are fentanalogs not fentanyl whose status in medicine will not change. This is good legislation IMO because when some super potent analogue hits the streets and kills a million people it takes time to ban, with this legislation its already banned before it even exists. It takes a while to ban a new RC, I'm fine with the Lysergamide and tryptamine analogs slipping by I don't like super powerful grey area opioids, at all. Carefentanil is pretty much a weapon of mass destruction this shit just shouldn't exist, besides the vet who needs to knock out an elephant I guess

--------------------
Lysergamides I have tried so far: 1P-LSD, 1cP-LSD, ALD-52, AL-LAD, LSZ, ETH-LAD, MIPLA, EIPLA, 1cP-AL-LAD
