‘Uncle Fester’ Facing Drug Charges After Raid of his Green Bay Home * 2
    #28445306 - 08/24/23 03:42 PM (5 months, 1 day ago)

https://wtaq.com/2023/07/17/uncle-fester-facing-drug-charges-after-raid-of-his-green-bay-home/

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Stephen Preisler, an author known as “Uncle Fester” for his books on how make ricin, methamphetamine and other items –  was charged Monday with a series of drug counts after police searched his east-side home Friday.

Preisler faces eight counts: four of manufacture or delivery of amphetamine, and one count each of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possess methamphetamine precursors, and maintaining a drug trafficking place.

Also charged Monday in connection with the case were Stacy Olson, who faces three charges; Preslie McGaughey, who faces five charges; and Stephanie Tiegs, who faces seven counts.

In court Monday, Preisler’s bond was set at $100,000. He returns to court Aug. 2.

According to Preisler’s criminal complaint, police arranged for a confidential informant to purchase crystal meth from Preisler last month. Ten days later, another controlled drug buy was made. A third attempt was made, but Preisler did not have any drugs available that time.

On Friday, police searched the home on South Baird Street.

“A search of 826 S. Baird Street was conducted and yielded 114.37 of cocaine-base, 328.26 grams of methamphetamine, 3.67 grams of marijuana, 385.78 grams of unknown controlled substances, 6 prescription pills, drug paraphernalia, and equipment consistent with a clandestine methamphetamine lab; later disposed of by the DCI CLEAR Team,” the complaint states.

The search also turned up multiple copies of books, including “Practical LSD Manufacture”, “Secrets of Methamphetamine Manufacture 8th Edition”, and “Advanced Techniques of Clandestine Psychedelic & Amphetamine Manufacture”, all by Uncle Fester.

“Based on my training, experience, and knowledge of this investigation, I believed these books contained working knowledge of how to synthesize controlled substance, most notably methamphetamine. “Uncle Fester” which I knew to be PREISLER authored these books,” the complaint states.

Although several people were charged, the complaint points to Preisler as the primary operative.

“Based on my knowledge of this investigation, PREISLER was the only individual who had access to the basement, which was where the clandestine lab was located,” the complaint states.

“The amount of methamphetamine located at 826 S. Baird Street (328.26 grams) could provide the average user enough methamphetamine to last them approximately 328-3,282 days. The same amount could provide a heavy user of methamphetamine for approximately 65 days. The average price of methamphetamine in the Brown County area is $150-$200 for “a ball”, or 3.5 grams. PREISLER possessed approximately $49,239-$65,652 worth of methamphetamine for profit. The amount of cocaine-base located at 826 S. Baird Street had a resale value of approximately $11,437.”

The complaint does not cite any comments from Preisler.

Preisler attended Marquette University with a degree in chemistry and biology. In a 2009 interview with WITI-TV, Preisler said that he got the nickname “Uncle Fester” from his college years. According to Wisconsin court records, Preisler was previously charged with distributing a controlled substance back in 1981.

Although the late Loompanics and Delta Press tempt you to start thinking of unconventional subject matter, you would eventually have to be educated to sort through disinfo, like bananadine and Rex-qwan-do.

I remember the Uncle Fester books from decades ago, if it's the same guy. I figured he was retired. He probably should have.

Damn, this sucks.

Bought all of his books cpl years ago direct from his site, just so I could have signed physical copies for collector purposes and also interesting reading, and kept up a correspondence with him during and afterwards, discussing different chem topics and theories and ideas for book stuff; the guy was genuinely gracious with his time and was a real joy to talk with, and gave a hookup on price too.

I know his books used to get a bit of a bad rap but overall they're solid (from what I can tell; admittedly, I haven't TOO much of a clue about anything from his Vest Busters, Silent Death, or Homemade Workshop Explosives books, apart from the organic chem theory behind it), the guy's a legend and fundamental character in underground/clandestine chem and literature, and deserves support.

It is the same guy, Loompanics book author, based on the books they mention. Unless the cops are wrong and they only busted a guy who owned the books. Though if that photo is him, he must have been very young whee he started writing. He looks about 65 (maybe younger if he does meth, haha), but Fester's first book came out 50 years ago.

OK, just did some reading, the idiot gives his real name (same as name in the article about his arrest) and age (I guessed it right) on his fucking website. What an idiot;
http://www.unclefesterbooks.com/article01.html

His website also has photos of him that clearly show his face. Same guy that was busted.

First rule of staying out of prison is is TELL NO ONE. Ego gets people busted all the time.

Funny, a few other chemists said his books were bullshit, seemed like written by a person who researched it but never cooked. He even addressed that in third pressing of one of his books (according to Wikipedia article on him)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncle_Fester_(author)

Wikipedia article has his real name too and did before this recent arrest, according to Wikipedia history.

He had enough meth with him that it looks like he finally figured it out. Though people with double-digit IQs regularly make meth, it's not rocket science.

The errors he made were in his LSD tek and speed teks, according to his Wiki article.

No one who plans to ever be active in any crime ever again should go on Hamilton's show. It's real journalism, but I'm sure drug users aren't the only people watching it and taking notes.

Man, I remember Uncle Fester.  I've read through several of his books for purely entertainment and they all contain good information mixed in with bullshit.  If you weren't educated on the chemistry or techniques in anyway and took everything and face value, I don't think anyone would be successful with anything other than his methamphetamine routes, and not even all of them at that.

Kinda wild it's finally caught up to him now and they finally popped him.  Wild.

:whathesaid:

I think the seed for the majority of otherwise-uninformed dislike towards him by people online was planted back in the Hive days, when a clearly-sped and sleep-deprived, argumentative Fester signed on and started up some arguments with some of the higher-ups at the time, and got schooled.

Apart from that, people's subjective moral and ethical reasons.

The drug books are pretty reliable, particularly "Advanced Techniques"; the LSD book is of course all theory.

Reading through them, I recognized a lot of synthetic routes from drug-chem forums, some stuff almost directly copy-pasted, abd other stuff surprisingly in-line with lesser-known synth pathways (to the average meth cook).

Overall, I'd say that it's all "Advanced for the typical P2P cook", and "interesting entertaining reading for the multi-drug clandestine chemist, or any chemist".

"385.78 grams of unknown controlled substances"

The fuck is this?  Shouldn't be able to prosecute that made up bullshit.

I guess Umphrey's Mcgee (I think it was them? maybe it was String Cheese) were wrong when they said, "you can't bust us if you don't know what you found"

By the time it gets to court i'm sure they will have a report from the crime lab. They probably reagent tested it and have an idea what it category it is. Only so much identification can be done in the field.

Why is Fester making something that the mexicans can make cheaper is my question. Domestic meth lab busts have decreased quite a bit in last few years. I didnt think it was a even a thing anymore

probably a hobbyist and wants a certain racemic mixture.  i dont do meth and never have been into it at all, but I do know a lot of the superlab meth isn't the best racemic mixture and tends to have some stuff in it that makes it not as pleasant and rots your brain more, look it up.

fester probably wants that old school biker meth stuff made the old way.

i don't do it either, never will, but thought all the problems from todays meth was it was just so strong. I have heard it (new meth) is causing more mass psychosis. Didnt know there were different racemic mixes like K, may look into it, probably wont. They should all just smoke weed and take acid.

Fester must be old since that LSD book was out in the 90s, spending your golden years locked up would suck.

How about we add a little reality to the math. Around here, an 8-ball goes for $25 to $50. I doubt that it's four to EIGHT times more expensive in the land of Uncle Fester. So, using the mid-point of $35 for 3 1/2 grams = $10 per gram which makes the alleged 328 grams actually have a street value of $3,280 and that is not even WHOLESALE prices!

So given their "unknown substance" along with their exceedingly make believe, even beyond unicorn status, financial numbers, it is is beyond obvious that this is a 100% COMPLEATLY BULLSHIT SETUP of Mr. Priesler. I wouldn't be surprised either if the so-called "controlled buys" were totally fabricated in order to back up a bullshit warrant to give them an opportunity to plant the alleged controlled substances and what not and arrest him because he dared exercise his constitutionally protected freedom of speech.

Wow, never heard of prices THAT low. If your loc is accurate, it makes sense, but damn. Around here, is more like ~$120-150/3.5g or roughly $1,000/oz. Fester is even further north than I am, so i could see SOME price fluctuations, given the distance from the equator/us border.
