Does Lignin-rich landscaping mesh induce Cyans?

Found ample amounts of Cyans at a San Francisco Bay-area public area that uses twine mesh for slope stability... or to induce grass/plant growth? Wondering if others have found the same.

Cyans might be able to feed off it as it’s breaking down, so might provide nutrients.
I’m not sure what you mean by induce though

Ah, that's a good point, so perhaps the mesh is simply a very good lignin-rich nutrient source for any potential mycelium and/or mushroom. I may try to use this on my own slopes!

Is the mycelium eating the rope? Is that its sole source?

Good question... a fellow hunter and I were noting that other cyans below us were growing in landscape wood chips, but this slope appeared to have little wood chips if any, so we concluded that the twine mesh was providing the lignin. It's possible, however, that the slope did contain buried wood chips. I should look harder next time I'm there.

The mushrooms were attached to the rope?

I found ovoids last year feeding on landscaping fabric, woodlovers are definitely cool with eating this stuff, even if it is a little unusual

Just got to love them. When will cubes be found growing on human feces is what I wonder. New strain: Anus Envy. Portaloo tek, anyone?
But seriously, they show some real fervour in decomposing, which I guess is a plus considering humanity's retarded ways with nature. I have lost faith in the so called "green change". A lot of these so called environmental friendly solutions aren't gonna help, they just find new ways to fuck things up, and make their dollars fooling people into believing it's something new and better.
My country's government posing as environmentalists has just decided, with support from the parliament, that they're going to start mining minerals on the ocean floor in the Arcitc. Because said minerals are necessary to save the globe. Most of the researchers and experts are warning against it being irresponsible and a potential disaster for marine life. Even the UN and EU councils on environmental issues spoke against it. But hey, fuck it, they've secured their "green badge" which falsely justifies almost any action.
That was my today rant. Nothing more to see here. Back to the fungi.

I wasn’t doubting it could eat that stuff. But I’ve found woodlovers growing from what looked like plain dirt. Of course there was wood further down. I just wanted to know specifically if that wasn’t the case here. Really cool.
