I rehydrated then cut up like 3, fried them up, put them on a personal cheese pizza, I canβt stand portobellos but these taste alright, Iβve never done any mushrooms, so, wish me luck. also I went back to try to get some more spore prints but didnβt have any success, I think they were just too old, most of the spores already released. I have some mycelium growing on agar, gonna see about cultivating a small batch for the express purpose of getting spore prints, plus, I wanna see the blue mycelium. will post updates soon

I don't think three of these are enough for a trip in any case.
Probably a waste of potential research material. With so few finds of this species, assuming it is in fact P. caruleorhiza, I personally think they should serve their scientific purpose first and foremost. It is still an undescribed species.
Not entirely relevant, but I can't help reminiscing this old quote:

Noooo! Don't eat the type collection!

You'd need to eat all of them. Preferably fresh. Drop the pizza. I'd dry a few and send them in for sequencing and go and look for more. How potent are these anyway?

i have 55 more grams dry weight , I have 12 clones on petri dishes, I have a grocery bag of the original substrate covered in mycelium, I have samples en route to the Ohio Mushroom DNA Lab, and to Alan Rockefeller, and I picked less than a quarter of what was growing there. I ate a few out of curiosity. donβt be an elitist dick.

Okay, that's really good.
I didn't realize you had collected that much, I only saw the picture with a few specimens in your initial post. Also sorry if I appeared to be condescending, it was honestly not my intention.

all good, Iβm probably a little oversensitive, as well. very new to this whole field, Iβm barely a botany guy let alone mycology let alone psychoactive mycology. Iβm just tryna not fuck up a potential contribution to science

seems like publishing of this species is a week away, so munching this collection is not that bad really, its not a holotype or anything. just don't mix it with other food is my advice, so you ease the body load. perhaps wait sequencing results so you are confident it's psilocybe, but all points to them being magic

How do you know, we don't know the potency, also these motherfuckers look big, i've tripped on just a few magic mushrooms this size

Well, we don't know for certain that this is the same species ready for publication. Until proof exists it's still just an assumption, even if it's educated.
Of course I don't know the potency, but neither do we know the weight of those three specimens. That being said, we haven't got the verdict from his bioassay yet, apart from that he found the taste not too bad.

BTW, rehydrating dried magic mushrooms isn't the way to go. Eat them as they are or make tea. I guess you could rehydrate them, eat them and then drink the water you used to rehydrate them in, though I don't see any reason for it. But good luck and have a nice trip whenever you decide to try them out!
