Help Identifying PNW Mushrooms
    #28613976 - 01/08/24 10:49 AM (19 days, 23 hours ago)

Hey! I would love some help identifying these, thank you so much!

I found these in Bellingham, Washington on a grass lawn on a rainy day(it's been raining for quite a few days in a row, as is common for January here)

Gills:
Color Same as caps, light-cream - dark orange, attached/not: I think they are unattached but due to the conical caps it's hard to be sure.

Stem:
Length: 2-4 inches, diameter: very small, maybe 4mm, color: cream - dark orange hollow/solid: seemingly solid

Cap:
Diameter: about 1 inch color: light cream-dark orange, texture smooth, vertical fibers, shape convex/concave smell earthy but otherwise indistinct bruising no color change

Spore print color: I couldn't see a spore print color after 30 minutes or so, it might be that I didn't wait long enough/messed something up though.

Thanks for your help <3 apologies if this is an obvious one, first time trying to identify!

Galerina species is likely. You'll normally have to wait 6-12 hours at least for a decent print, however
the smaller the mushroom, the sooner they dry out and are less likely to drop spores in any noticable quantities.
It helps covering the cap with a cup or something similar, to keep up the humidity.

Welcome to the Shroomery. :toast:
