Yesterday my childhood friend ODed off blues. He survived. Barely. Still hospitalized. Another is looking at a steep prison sentence over stealing to support their habit I feel like blues is another level It's killing everyone I know Or everyone goes to prison Feel so hopeless in this moment Im sure Ill snap out of it as the day progresses. Fentanyl is destroying everyone

Get out of the lifestyle. If you can afford dope you can get on a Methadone clinic

It seems many souls have been exiting this plane the past several years. I try to remember that I don't know the wider meaning of the totality. I too have experienced loss of this kind, including unintentional ODs as well as suicides. I've learned that "tragedy" is just a type of Greek drama. In reality, the story is never over.
Stick with it, be open to all possibilities. It's hard. I have felt poisoned in my soul in the past, but there is a way to transmute that. I am inspired by stories from Holocaust survivors. The human drama gets heavy, but we can share that burden together.

Its been a rough year for me as well. Not quite as much as you, but its been tough. Its about resilience and staying positive and staying strong. Its not easy, it takes practice. Find Spiritual. Find Meaning. Find Peace within yourself and the Tragedy. Good Luck 🙏

I've lost numerous loved ones to drug abuse as well.
I often cry when I think about them.

I don't use, except shrooms. But I do harm reduction work. And people are dropping like flies or going to prison. He overdosed again. He mixes alcohol with blues. Its soooo painful to watch with anyone but really hurts when I know them well. I cry too.

I'm not against drug use and I think drugs should be legal, but I've lost a lot of friends to drug related shit, overdoses, suicides related to drug induced behavior or relationships fucked up by addiction and things like infections or illness related to drug use.
This girl I love, or loved, she died in October from a heart infection related to the needle. I think this hurt more than many of the others because we had long conversations about what she wanted in life. She wanted to be a mom, a wife and go to church and all of that. Her dad was a white supremacist gang member who was involved in meth and human trafficking. It's like she never had a fucking chance.

I am so sorry. SO many don't have chances... a reality many are unaware of. Exactly the reason I fight so hard for harm reduction. It hurts.... a lot The day I posted this... it was overwhelming I felt so hopeless

I hear you.
Harm reduction is the name of the game. Any reduction in harm is a win.

I understand other people's perspectives but when it gets personal for me I don't understand how a human can allow another human to die when there's preventative things to stop the death. I see every overdose as a policy failure.
I never would of tried shrooms had I not of educated myself. If education was offered on all drugs people can make educated decisions.
Obviously majority don't research but imagine if it education was more mainstream and people gave a shit. I have some strong feelings about it.
It hurts after awhile . There's so much more to it . So much trauma behind addiction. So many people never given any opportunities. And some with deep addiction. And society treats em like shit. It hurts me to see someone act like Im doing something wonderful when im treating them with basic respect. It's astonishing to me. Recently I've been going back and forth with local cops. We have one really great one. His partner is a doctor who is in recovery for opioids. He has a different perspective. I wish his partner would share her story but its hers to share. They think locking them up gets them sober. It creates more trauma, opportunity, and few are sober in prison. Sorry Shit has been bothering me Its hard So many obstacles and no support the other day when a woman told us not to use her tax money for narcan. Just let them die My son has overdosed, my friend twice in a week Narcan saved their lives People can be cruel and I have an education, empathy and an enormous heart Its hard. Cruelty gets to me I should of been independently wealthy instead of smart, empathetic and ridiculously good looking.. that was a joke

Nobody in my home uses opiates and we have two doses of Narcan on our shelf just in case.
I wonder if I should put one in the glove box of our motor vehicle.
