Use an ash catcher and it will help a little bit. You can get ones that don’t bubble and catch the ash and whatever you pull through.
You’re making me think about my roor I had as a kid! I loved that bong so much! And then my dad threw it in the trash when he moved houses. I wanted to cry! My vaporizer, bubbler, and a sweet spoon bowl. In the fuckin trash…. Grrrrrr

Man I had the same issue with my bong. It seems like no matter what I do it gets clogged up again after a few bowls.
I might break down and try buying one of those bong cleaning solutions.
So far I’ve tried filling it with iso and letting it sit for a couple days shaking occasionally, same with vinegar and salt.

I am using an ash catcher and it still clogs there all of a sudden. I can run hot water through it, then blow into it and the resin splats out into the beaker area. My buddy just told me he uses a screen like that days of old metal pipes and it helps. He is like 60 though hahah
Nothing like a good bong rip. I could vape and dab rosin, resin and bubble extracts all day, but nothing hits like a good bong load. I might look into a slightly smaller piece.
Acetone and some grit is the best bong cleaner. Just wear nitrile gloves and be careful with it.

Do black tea soaks help in marijuana seed germ? I know it's a thing in peppers I wonder if it also helps us. I'm not sure Why it's a thing though.
I have had 100% success by tossing seeds in water for 36 hours then moving them to a wet paper towel in a plastic bag on the window sill

I do a 12 hour soak then plant directly into plugs/rooters/cell tray with coco perlite, I rarely have germ issues with this method.
Could be a seed age or storage issue as well.

Aka fill it with iso and coarse salt and shake the fuck out of it for a couple of minutes (saran wrap +tape the openings), that always gets most of it out for me. I then use a pipe cleaner to get to the leftover bits here n there, usually only 2 or 3 spots.
PrepH, IDK about black tea, but bongwater is just about the best germination soak you can find. I usually water in some soil to where it's just moist enough to support seedlings, then I plant the seeds , then I just pour a bit of bongwater right over where the seeds have just been planted. It's basically a mimicking having a field burn down, the seeds that get the first rain after a burn get activated by the burn compounds in the rainwater. Not all plant species react to this, and it's part of why some plant species tend to shoot up first after a field has been burned. There are studies on it. Don't know if there are studies on cannabis or hemp relating to smoke water but other species have been studied. I've been using it for years now though.
100% germ rate is easy with young seed, if you've kept things in a drawer for 10 years it's going to be hard to get to 10% with whatever method you try.
Not to say I have the best storage.
That's why when germinating old seeds, I always go the extra step of thoroughly pasteurizing my soil and then inoculating it with mycorhizals, along with using bongwater as a soak.
Always keep an eye on humidity of the topsoil. Never soaking, never drying out.
After most of the seeds have come up, I'll very carefully check the few remaining ones, and most of the time, they'll be on their way. If you happen to move them at this stage, they'll likely take a few days to recover. The only thing that seems to go wrong when all of this is used is that occasionally there'll be one or two seeds that need to be carefully cracked between the teeth; after cracking and putting back in the soil they are usually above ground the next day or the day after that.
Really the most likely factor for seeds not germinating is bad storage and old age. That's why I like to buy from the company or breeder that makes the seed and not a third seller. I used to buy from a few seedbanks that make most off selling others' seeds, and it was always hit or miss, a lot of times having less than stellar germ rates. When I get seeds from other people I know or from the breeders themselves, as long as I haven't stored them for years the germ rates are great. Same with my own work.
When a lot of seeds don't come up when the seeds are within their expected quality time frame so to speak, seed maggots become worth investigating. I've dealt with seed maggots on more than one occasion and they absolutely suck. IIRC I've even had them when placing seeds in paper towels which leads me to think there's a type of maggot which has it's eggs laid on or in the seeds themselves. When you have seed maggots the seed will look dark and wet and when you crack it (don't use your teeth here!) it'll have a bunch of squirmy little fuckers inside the seed, it's absolutely gross.

Got a black sugar seedling now , and the bagseed that started flowering... I ended up topping it and getting it on 18/6 - it's still showing its sex but looks like it's back in veg growth - doing some LST as well
Also got some buds from Michigan and found 5 seeds

I keep all my seeds in a large tupperware filled with rice with a desiccant pack in the fridge. It's been a few years since I popped or bought any, and I'm not sure how viable they all are as some of them are 10+ years old, but I'm glad I put them in the fridge when I did.

I store mine in little vials placed in an old ice cream bucket, along with my other seeds and they seem to last forever.
Even after a year I still get excellent germination rates. And one time I used the same batch of seeds for four straight years, but that fifth year did it, and none germinated.

If storing them in perfect conditions, they could last for a decade.
But in order to keep your genes safe from being lost to time, having to regenerate seed every 3 to 4 years is not outside the norm.

A small splash of H2O2 in soak water seems to help with old seeds.
For cleaning glass, along with rubbing alcohol and coarse salt, some dry white rice helps too. 90% alcohol works a little better than 70%.
