Who cares? The Windows sandbox feature has nothing to do with Sandboxie-plus.

Use third party apps. You should be able to "open with" from the sandboxed explorer images with Ifranview, videos with VLC, documents with Libreoffice, etc.

Maybe not the right place for this thread. Don't really know where this should go as it is more about protection your pc than it is about protecting your identity.
Is anybody here using sandboxie-plus? I installed it yesterday but don't understand much of it. Not much to be found on youtube about it so I'm looking for some good and recent tutorials about it. Most yt vids are too specific and online tutorials are pretty old and for previous versions which make it confusing for new users.
Would like to know how I can safely open an USB stick and open files on it inside sandboxie. I tried opening a usb stick by opening file explorer inside sandboxie and I can browse the usb stick but it doesn't want to open picture for example.

Sandbox not the same as VMware. Sandboxie uses existing windows to run programs in a sandboxed environment. With VMware you install another os onto the VM.

Just use qubes or Linux and kvm like an adult. Windows is not secure and is malware. The sandbox feature is for development and not security as per the windows feature documentation.

Oh fuck off out of my thread. what you posted is totally not what I asked for. I asked about sandboxing and sandboxie (the program) in particular and your answer is installing a totally new OS, qubes os out of all of them. One of the most complicated linux system if you're new to linux. You have not been helpful at all.

I figured it out a while ago but thanks for the answer and staying on topic.
Still learning though but I'm liking it so far. I set up my browser and email client to always run sand boxed. I just have to run them unsandboxed for updates. Nice thing about running my email client sandboxed is that every link I open will run in a sandboxed web browser.
Does windows defender picks up on trojans and other threats within sandboxie?
