Successfully grew psilocybe cubensis and consumed a lot, but nothing happened.

Hello all,
Over the past few months, psilocybe cubensis was growing inside a myco-bag in my apartment, via spores that were purchased on Sporeworks. The grow turned out seemingly successful. A beautiful forest of fungi grew inside the bag, and I harvested the mushrooms after the veils broke, when they were a golden-brown color, and proceeded to eat a bunch of them raw, enough for what we would call a heroic dose, yesterday morning on an empty stomach.
Strangely enough, nothing happened - no hallucinations, no change in consciousness, even after waiting for hours. This is quite odd, since I have tripped beautifully two previous times in my life. On those occasions, my method of consumption was to make a tea out of the dried mushrooms. The only explanation I can think of is that the web site sold me some kind of non-hallucinogen lookalike mushroom. Would any of you happen to have any theories on what may have happened?
Thanks, Molo

There's a thread above about things that can prevent tripping. First two things to come to mind were if you were on any other meds or if you tripped too recently.

Do you have any shrooms left over that we could ID? You should get an ID on mushrooms you grow yourself if youβre not experienced in identifying mushrooms.
Other than the wrong species it could be that your batch was just a dud. Apparently that happens sometimes.
Like Ditchdude said, read the thread stickied at the top of this forum by Northerner.

Some photos of your fruits would be helpful.
Either they were the wrong species, a bunk strain or perhaps you have some kind of natural tolerance.

Did I read it right that on te occasions where you tripped you used dried shrooms, and this was your first go with fresh?
What weight of fresh did you eat? 'Heroic' on fresh is about 50g - if you can eat that quantity of fresh cubes, respect to you as I'd puke my guts out.
Like others (and https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/28117277) say, there's lots of possible reasons, including that some cubes are much stronger than others.

This happened with me once. I ate it fresh but nothing happened. But the grow was completely experimental-trying to fruit a bacterial spawn. The yield was very low and they were lacking potency. Not sure how you grown it but my theory would be, contaminated spawns produce less potent mushrooms.

My 3rd trip was on fresh mushrooms about 45g. I'm glad that I don't get nausea from eating mushroom haha. Large dose on fresh hits differently than dry ones. I always prefer fresh over dry.

Fresh are the best, in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies. It did not occur to me to take any pictures, but from their appearance, the mushrooms were undoubtedly P. Cubensis (it seems unlikely that the spore company would sell lookalikes to people who paid for something else).
The most likely situation may be what Mycmynd mentioned - the flush seemed to be contaminated. Shortly after I transferred the mycelium cakes into the compost and began the fruiting phase, there was a yellowish blotch at the side of the mycobag. Yet, the mushrooms still grew. When I harvested them, there was a bluish, moldy-looking tint on the stems. My understanding was that if there is a contamination, the mushrooms simply do not grow, but it seems that even a contaminated ecosystem will grow mushrooms, albeit non-psychoactive ones. Could this be the case?

People grow out contaminated subs all the time because at least they'll get some shrooms from it. That suggestion is not the answer you are looking for.
This thread contains your answer.
The reason I wrote that is because it's such a common question, and people want to know in black and white without having to sift through all sorts of replies that may or may not be factual.
