Nvidia has their own repository for OpenSuse Tumbleweed and KDE is finally stable for the most part on Wayland if you're interested.
Of course you can also just get an AMD card and avoid the circus

<- Debian (home) / Debian & CentOS (work).
You'd be amazed that most people are using Linux or devices with kernels based on without even knowing!

For me, Linux has been great to keep old hardware alive.
I have distro hopped on my two old laptops a bunch over the past month, and keep coming back to Fedora. XFCE on my real old thinkpad, and KDE on my chromebook.

I would consider myself a KDE fanboy/shill. Can't get enough of it. The biggest downfall might be that there is TOO many settings to customize! You will click one menu and open up 20 more... surely a pain to find things
I've attempted to use tiling manages like dwm and awesomewm, but they didn't fit my tastes ): (But I can see the love in the simplicity of simple config files especialy)
Currently I run Suse as my daily driver. If you are used to RPMs (like on Fedora), then know that Suse also uses it.

Haha, that's a good one! It is sad to see how RMS is doing lately. He is battling the same Lymphoma late Paul Allen did.

I recently migrated over to Linux after years of using Windows.
After trying a few distro's I've settled on OpenSuse TW & I love it so far. It fits my use-case and I like having the ability to heavily customize my OS.
Linux isn't for everyone so I'd recommend starting with one of the beginner friendly distro's and seeing if it's for you.

Completely agree.
I saved an old iMac and desktop with Ubuntu.

I've distro hopped a bunch lately on a pretty old Thinkpad and so far the fastest performing distro has been Fedora XFCE. It runs smoother than Debian with XFCE. Dnf is just much slower than apt but I can deal with that.

I moved to Linux during the WindowsXP era. I just got tired of paying Microsoft for an OS. Now, when I buy a new machine with Windows pre-installed, I just boot up from a linux USB, repartition, and install linux. Make Windows a virtual machine, and you can use both operating systems simultaneously. No need to dual boot.
