If you watered a gallon to both, you overwatered. Don't feed a gallon of water to a small plant. How is that small plant going to get a gallon processed in a week? Even half a gallon would have been too much. A quart would have been plenty. How much do you think those girls sweat in a week? Remember, they ain't dripping with sweat from working out, and they don't need to pee.

edit: If given the choice, watering twice a week with less always gets my vote.

Happy new years to all!

I think I should put in a few more auto's but I'm also pretty sure that's going to give me space problems down the line.

Yeah that's what I just realized. I wasn't thinking about it enough. I was just reading an article about watering and it said that if you are having to wait longer than 3 days between watering then you need to water less at a time.

I was thinking that the soil is so light it would evaporate quickly with fabric pots but I guessed wrong.

I'm going to back way off on the next water. I'll try a quart like you said and see how they like it. Thank you for the specific advice.:highfive:

Edit: Happy New Year's to everyone as well!

Well I do have to add, I'd never even feed them a quart at once at this stage, unless the soil really needs it.

But usually I water in increments of 200-500 ml per container, and my containers are about 8 quarts.

If your containers are 3 gallon or more I'd say a quart is good but it still depends on plant size.

3 days between is indeed my goal.

I've been trying my hand at bottom watering with SIP containers and I made the mistake of not valueing the importance of a dark water container so I got a bunch of algae in there and it fucked it all up, but before it fucked it all up I did notice that the plants seem to grow faster when they almost constantly have their feet wet.

It's just really important to keep that wet dark, and probably also to not let the wet get stale, so it's still a very tricky balancing act.

It's like an intermediate between soil and inert media hydroponics in that it gains the growing speed, but it also gets you a bit of both worlds in terms of things to watch out for.

Hoping I will have this style sorted by next round, looking good so far.

Just an update on those plants. Looks like they’re all girls..
:datass:

Have decided to encourage the taller ones to grow sideways by tying branches down where necessary. As opposed to just topping them again & again.
I want to see just how much I can flex and manipulate the plants growth to keep it in shape before I have to resort to pruning.

One more question for yall.

Do you think I will be able to LST the larger 2 plants while the seedlings catch up? They're about a month apart.

Well those 2 will always be bigger.
The seedlings will always be smaller. So it's up to you really.
A lot of this is personal preference.
You'll get the hang of it.

Just get another little tent or area to veg those while you flower out the other two… and get some cuttings rooted in the meantime….if one of those turns out extra nice you will want to have some clones and can keep her going and it will be faster than starting from seed every time…

I would love to get another tent setup but I'm at my limit for financing this operation currently.

I guess I will have to train a bunch and see what I can do. It'll be pushing the space requirements but my LED has a 6x6 veg footprint and 5x5 for flowering.

My my my,  how the times have changed.

I don't know whether to laugh or to cry!

Did people actually smoke that garbage back in the day?

I mean,  some of the stuff is nothing but leaf!

And look at the Mexican sensemillia which was clearly seeded. Give me a break! All they did is pick the seeds out of the calyxes

sorry, I'm bored  :crazy2:

Man, I can't ever recall getting anything that looked that bad,  even when I started smoking back in the 90's!

Pretty sure the bricked up weed from the last half of the 90s everyone complained about was considerably better than that top 40 list.  I can only remember once or twice getting some garbage that looked like that.  Guerro Gold?? That looks like crap you trim away..

The top picture looks a lot better, but the mexican sensi in the middle looks worse than some of the other ones.

No way man! If you jumped in a time machine and went back to the 70's with ten pounds of that, you would be one very rich son of a gun  :yesnod:

No wonder weed is so much stronger today, more than 1/2 that bud was leaf, stems or seed! Back when, we'd get "redbud" that wasn't too bad then they started bricking it up. 😞 Oz the size of a deck of cards and broken seeds sucked. It was still better than when weed used to run out during summer though!

From those days to today, what a difference!

It’s wild I think about it all the time. We strive for the best plants now and freeze and bubble hash em. Then freeze dry the hash and press it into rosin…

I love dank nuggets but…., when I still smoke joints but they normally get twaxed.

Here’s some hash rosin I’m curing up, it tastes like fresh mountain air and a little sweet fruit and mint… nice batch this time!

So I’m pretty sure it was @wetokechronic’s Altoids but I’m not certain cuz the label washed off. Lol. I like the consistency! And like watching it change/whipping it up…

By the late 90s im pretty sure we had weed as good as what as what is around today, there was just a lot of bad weed around too.  I still have wet dreams about that roadkill stunk.

My 2 stage water bong is starting to get clogged repeatedly in a new spot, like faster than the down stem is getting clogged.  Right below the ice pinch where the 2nd stage water is.  I've had this thing for maybe 5 years, now I got to really keep it clean.  Its like a resin magnet formed there.
