I only inoculated 4 days ago. No signs of life yet. 2 of the containers are clear, the others are see-through. I think I'll tape 'em up so ya can't see. My sterilization was microwave. I never tried it before, but I heard it's trust worthy. As soon as they came out, I sealed 'em...let 'em cool down, inoculated by putting holes in the top, then put tape over the holes. Hopefully ATLEAST one container will yield me some of nature's fine candy to trip on.

I would not put tape on them yet because you will not be able to monitor your progress. I would waite until colonization before tapeing. The BR may work but I have doubts about the birdseed just because it is prett hard to sterilize. I would keep the "thingies" in the dark durring colonization to avaoid pinning. Once you are colonized then tape em up and use your plan. Maybe a little casing layer on top.
