B+ fruiting issues
#28598322 - 12/26/23 07:13 AM (1 month, 1 day ago) |

I started with an all in one bag with a B+ spore solution.i let the bad fully colonize then mixed it with a pre mixed substrate and have been waiting for it to fully colonize before I started setting it up to fruit. But...... As we see from these pics... I have 1 developing marvel and two new pins ... It's remained a constant temp with very little light exposure yet here we are?? I'm also a little confused as to how to make the move to my fruiting chamber if my cake is not fully colonized?? Do I just let it fall apart and go or??? Help!!!

its overly wet and theres not enough fae. your coir looks too wet to begin with. this is why i dont endorse unmodified tubs. The only control you have is messing with the lid so start bu un-snapping it and see if that helps . then flip it perhaps if that doesnt start to dry things up.

Graced by beef supreme jr .... At least its growing.... you wont have much room for those mushrooms to grow if they are tall boys. grab another tub flip it upside down.
A dialed in tub is always best . But man...... ya gotta love how cubes will still grow lol. dub tub ftw.
I also like liners some of the condensation of a slightly over field tub might go around the bag to the bottom of the tub .
Beef what about the tub tek? tub tek for the win ditch the plastic send the whole tub lol * a joke because one member actually grew right out of the tub for a while lol.

I like the dub tub idea. however he does it, that sub needs air.

I'd agree that it's a bit on the wet side and starving for air. I'm curious about what you were planning to do with this tub though to put it in fruiting conditions since you are talking about removing the cake from the tub?
Most of us go into "fruiting conditions" when we make the tub now. That means it is getting light and fresh air exchange from day one. Your tub would have benefitted from that since it is already trying to pin and they need air.
So with where you are right now I'd suggest you just use that container for a unmodified fruiting tub. You need to put them into fruiting conditions now to help dry it up a bit and give those pins the air they need. Like beef said, the first step would be simply unlatching the lid. The next step would be flipping it over. If you still need more fresh air exchange after that, you can rotate the lid a bit but you likely won't need to.
Next time you spawn a tub, evening out the surface will help promote pinning and allow easier moisture coverage as well.
Welcome to the shroomery by the way.

Ok so I appreciate all the advice and I moved it to a modded tub and put up lights etc.... but... The cake split in half and it pissed everywhere but still no contamination just very few coming up....

I'm trying to post new pics but i can't seem to find how... I have three very thick little pricks about ready and the rest of the cake is barren but still very alive

Bro cmon what do you think we can see from purple pictures?
Usually when people say it pissed they mean yellow/orange liquid.
I’d get involved in agar now then you can clone your fruits and get more.

I understand some of the things I may have done were off the norm but I was trying something new to me all together and was just an amalgamation of things I wanted to try to get the most out of what I had.... It's healthy and growing just not fruiting well and the orange piss has kind of been re absorbed or something because its gone and I am getting small pins and another fruit... The ones there double in size daily it seems.... Just need some advice on how to handle it from here?? Ty

okay bud. understood. well, id still read the guide at least insofar as the section on bulk. see comebackkids tek on surface conditions. if you can get your surface conditions dialed in you should be able to get a better flush out of this. its a balance between suface moisture and fae.
so i guess harvest your fruit, the maybe regydrate the sub then try to establish surface conditions again. thats what id do.

I'd say just keep doing what you're doing. I don't think anything you do now will change the course of this grow, provided you keep the conditions acceptable.
You went spores to grain which is a recipe for contamination and I would bet that your spawn wasn't completely clean. That alone could explain poor performance from the tub.
What could also add to poor performance would be your setup and how you prepared the tub. There is a lot to work on, but I'd save that for next grow.
You're getting fruit from an AIO bag you shot up with spores though. I'd consider that a win alone.
Keep the conditions good, rehydrate after the flush, and work on making a proper fruiting setup with a more reasonable light and a better designed tub. Get your agar started or use PF tek if you want to continue to use spores.

Well I read they do better on a cooler wave length of light and have it set up on just the blue light typically but tried the mix for a few days... I dunno... Had no idea it was such a risk using the pre made bag..... I wonder if it would help to harvest and flip... The cake did not come out as a whole and is kind of brittle.... How do I go about setting up for the flush and even do it??

A pre made bag is only part of the issue. The main issue would be inoculating grain with spores.
With the light, I just meant that it seems extremely overkill for a monotub. Light as close to daylight (6500k) on a 12 to 14 hour timer is the recommended. Most of us just use simple white LED strips or cfls. That light just looked insane to me compared to everything else on here.
I wouldn't recommend flipping. Your surface still looks okay.
After you've harvested, you just need to rehydrate the substrate of lost water. Multiple ways to do it. I'd recommend either bottom watering or heavy misting.
Bottom watering is dumping some water between the liner and the substrate and letting it sit for a few hours before pouring off the excess.
Heavy misting would be misting until the water starts to pool, closing the tub up, and then coming back and doing it again the next day.
Those big mushrooms look normal. The fuzz around the base is mycelium and is common. The skinny one isn't "normal" but is safe to eat.

In most cases of newer growers you over work the whole thing and end up doing more harm then good with everything it takes time for the mycelium to adapt to a change. * to some degree*
Do not flip you'll do more harm then good. most likely.
Idk how wet it is but it looked better in the tub. It's probably got some bacteria somewhere but it will try and fruit as much as possible before ... I'd pick and just keep going.
keep from changing much and keep it in some type of tub or flip the tub over i t something to keep humidity ...
MSS syringe is a gamble . I always like to gamble with a spawn bag or two if i trust the mss enough and i have no lc/agar ready that i want. but agar is the way to test and insure.
The best thing next round is to look up the tek's everyone was recommending... and follow the Litfa ..... Leave it the fuck alone. and Keep it simple stupid. rules to live by. at least at the start .

You guys have been so helpful and now I have some smaller ones starting to pop.... I changed the light and the setup to some small degree and put it in a little cooler room..... With a smaller light
