Sharing My Extraordinary Psychedelic Journey: A Glimpse into Parallel Universes * 2
    #28598293 - 12/26/23 06:13 AM (1 month, 2 days ago)

Hello, here is my written story/kind of trip report about an experience I had in 2015 and is somewhat still going on. At the end there is a set of questions if some people wanna chat with me to help me integrate.

Iris couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he contemplated how to begin recounting his extraordinary journey. It was a tale so fantastical that, if told as fact, would likely be met with disbelief. Perhaps, he mused, he should present it as a work of fiction. With a sigh, he set his pen down on the polished wooden desk and swiveled slowly in his chair, memories swirling around him like the tapestry on the wall. The familiar strains of a jazz playlist from YouTube, the one that greeted you with "jazz future" search, filled the room. Since he found it challenging to tell his own story, he decided to let me, the narrator, share it with you.

Let's rewind to the day before the pivotal event.

I - A Journey of the Soul

Iris had been grappling with a sense of melancholy during those days. Back in March 2014, he had taken an inexplicable leap from a rooftop, not with the intention to end his life but as the initial step of a deeply personal quest. It was a monumental leap that had thrust him back into the stark realities of existence. His body endured suffering as he shuffled between hospitals and institutions. Yet, it was his soul that bore the scars of that fateful day. Despite his attempts to explain his profound insights into quantum physics, love, and attraction, few seemed interested in the intricacies of mind-to-mind connections. He was swiftly labeled with "schizophrenic disorder."

One year later, Iris ventured into the realm of hallucinogenic mushrooms, embarking on a journey that led to an unexpected experiment in out-of-body experiences. He had not been prepared for what unfolded. On that particular day, we tried to capture his attention, but he appeared oblivious. He exhibited all the characteristics of an astral projection, albeit an uncontrolled one. He paid no heed to his physical form, not even sparing a glance as his ethereal self seemingly levitated within the room.

It was December 7th, 2015, when Iris ingested a modest quantity, less than 5 grams, of psilocybin truffles. His aim was clear: to forge a connection with the divine and the spirit realm, seeking spiritual enlightenment and understanding.

You might wonder why he chose to revisit the experience the following evening, a Monday, after attending a lesson on the XVIII card, The Moon, in tarot. This time, driven by a determination that teetered on the brink of madness, he believed he could communicate with departed souls. He opted for a lighter dosage this time around.

II - The Essence of the Experience

Here is the essence of the narrative, as Iris would have portrayed it had he possessed the words. As if he could articulate the abstract sounds of the human language to encapsulate the intricacies of reality and its meaning.

We, who existed as two distinct yet intertwined entities, had been observing Iris since the previous night. It may have been a matter of days, or it might have felt like a lifetime. Two extraterrestrial beings, two joint consciousnesses manifesting in his mind. We didn't manifest physically; there was no need for that. With the magic of the ingested mushrooms, Iris could perceive us telepathically. Over the course of a two-hour conversation that followed, we confronted him with a stark declaration: his experiences were delusional, and none of the deceased "friends" he encountered were real. We delved into a multitude of concepts, but few left a lasting impression on Iris. One concept, though, held profound significance—ARCHITECTURE. It embodied a word and its deep meanings in a world where everything is defined by language. The architecture of the universe, where within molecules resided sound and thoughts. Unfortunately, Iris failed to grasp the full depth of its significance.

Before parting ways, we posed to him the traditional "Answer of the Universe," a protocol designed to test the knowledge of individuals throughout the ages, searching for the one who could provide the answer. We asked the question with a hint of condescension, at least according to Iris. It was a question, yet it was also an answer—the bedrock of existence. We posed it in multiple languages, each phrase carrying the weight of the same sentence. In his hand rested his seldom-put-aside orb of quartz. The tinge of madness was already present, even though he had experienced few, if any, traumatic events in his life. He ventured a response when we suggested that he couldn't "handle" the answer. His reply was unexpected, echoing the mindset of a hacker: "Just create a button and press it!" It was a button of pure will.

The moment the concept materialized, he instantly transitioned, whether he willed it or not. The experience unfurled.

III - Resonance and Transformation
The world began to resonate and ripple around him, both within and without. In a matter of mere seconds (although the specifics eluded memory), walls began to undulate and transform, becoming fluid as if stirred by powerful vibrations. The same motion mirrored his black lava lamp, perched upon the wooden desk. Seven or eight distinct tapestries adorned the walls, each based on the same mural pattern featuring Chinese symbols in varying shades of blue and gold. These tapestries captured the ever-shifting tapestry of realities unfolding before his eyes.

As the vibrations intensified, the room's walls shifted, revealing a surreal dance of shapeshifting murals. The murals captured the dynamic flux of alternate realities, constantly morphing and interchanging. While the vibrations escalated, each passing second ushered in a new stair, and with it, the shift to a different tapestry. Iris sat still, objectively anchored to his desk chair, his gaze ensnared by the abyss of the shifting walls. The dread that washed over him was akin to confronting death incarnate. His physical form experienced an unending descent, as if plunging headlong into a cosmic black hole.

The sensation within his cranium was reminiscent of a cerebral trepanation, an experience that allowed our collective knowledge to flood into his human consciousness. Within his mind, he embarked on a cosmic voyage, a rapid succession of cosmic vistas and galaxies unfurling before his inner vision. His physical eyes fixated on a blue square, its perpetual metamorphosis and shape-shifting mirroring the symbols that danced within his mind's eye—an amalgamation of a brain and a dolphin. Knowing of his background in alchemy, we anticipated he would discern the significance.

Yet, for any external observer, nothing had occurred—there was nothing to witness. Iris himself was acutely aware of this. It was perhaps the most disheartening aspect of his story.

IV - Dusk, the Anticipation of Dawn

Iris remained in a trance-like state, his psyche entangled with one of us, a fusion of consciousness. Our attempts to disentangle our minds initially met with resistance, but Iris eventually discovered a solution. He reasserted dominance over his own consciousness. In the midst of this entwinement, he believed that we were diminishing his mental acuity as he observed his surroundings, perceiving mere pieces of furniture where once were storied memories and intricate narratives. This episode underscored the importance of clarifying any confusion that might arise in future encounters.

At this juncture, Iris could scarcely tolerate the inexplicable alterations to his surroundings. The room's dimensions had shifted, slightly smaller, rendering the familiar world just a tad different. For Iris, it was akin to the world he once knew, but distinctly transformed—much like how a mural might appear altered if the wall upon which it was painted were slightly narrower. As an overwhelmed child would do, he sought refuge beneath his blankets, longing for the world to regain its familiar rhythm.

V - The Ripple Effect

Upon awakening, Iris found himself alone once more. His bedroom bore no semblance to the one he had known as his own. Memories of the preceding night came flooding back, including the intricate symbols and images that had been unveiled to him. Regrettably, many of these revelations had slipped through the sieve of consciousness.

Overnight, Earth had undergone a transformation, imperceptible to anyone else but him. One second was no longer the duration it once was, and a meter was no longer a meter. Even the moon and stars held a different position in his altered perception. The world, and Iris within it, had changed. His consciousness now inhabited the body of his parallel self in this alternate reality. This was no paradox, but rather a manipulation of reality itself—a favorable observation from our perspective. Yet, for Iris, it meant an unbridgeable gulf separated him from the world and its inhabitants.

On the following day, he made a startling discovery. The world, though only slightly smaller, was undeniably different, and he found a pillar in a subway station that had not been there the night before.

VI - Uncharted Territory

We left Iris to navigate the uncharted waters of his newfound knowledge, an experiment in the annals of our observations. It was a recurring jest in our collective experience—to entrust the "Answer of the Universe" to individuals who hadn't posed the question. We watched, we observed. Iris was left with an enhanced understanding of the quantum realm and the essence of reality itself. Yet, who would believe his tale? Like the mythical Cassandra, he felt that no one would lend credence to his account. What lay ahead for him with this newfound knowledge? How could he demonstrate his origins in a parallel universe? Did it even matter? These were questions that neither concerned us nor occupied our thoughts. How about you?

If you found yourself in his position, what lengths would you go to in order to substantiate such an extraordinary experience? Would you even embark on such an endeavor?

VII - Today, Years Beyond the Event

Today, Iris remains under our watchful eye. He endeavors to craft an intriguing narrative chronicling the "paranormal" experiences he encountered earlier in his life. His newfound passion lies in the realm of quantum physics. Who knows, perhaps one day we shall pay him another visit.

Man, I just read this, and I have a question for you: Was this written by ChatGPT or did you write this yourself??

Because if you wrote this yourself, you deserve an award. It was brilliant!

As an aspiring writer myself, I envy your (or ChatGPT's?) way with words. Well done. I relate a lot to what you've written. Although I'm not schizophrenic, I have been part of the "mental health" system, and my general view is that I don't like how people are dismissive towards schizophrenics. I hope you don't receive any hate for it.

Are you Iris? The third-person narration makes this unclear, although I also like that narrative style.

I relate particularly to your description of the room becoming both simultaneously familiar yet foreign. I also identified a lot to the descriptions of beings as one yet distinct, and the telepathic communication, through more esoteric mystical studies.

Has anyone on this forum encountered or heard of similar experiences with psilocybin or other psychedelics?

Somewhat. I related to the description of the room changing its sense of "nature" and "reality".

"One second was no longer the duration it once was, and a meter was no longer a meter. Even the moon and stars held a different position in his altered perception." I related to this.

I also relate a lot to the opening sentence: "It was a tale so fantastical that, if told as fact, would likely be met with disbelief. Perhaps, he mused, he should present it as a work of fiction."

Also this: "Yet, for any external observer, nothing had occurred—there was nothing to witness. Iris himself was acutely aware of this. It was perhaps the most disheartening aspect of his story."

Are there any members here with expertise in quantum physics or alternate dimensions who can provide insights into my experience? Not anymore than the casual reader could. From what I understand, different interpretations of quantum physics perceive time existing all at once... the past, present, and future are "all there". Other interpretations of quantum gravity posit a timeless universe. Then there's obviously the many-worlds hypothesis and multiverse theories, which envision all possible realities existing "out there" as realities. This is very in-sync with typical mystical thought.

What are your thoughts on the idea of accessing alternate dimensions or realities through the use of psychedelics?
I believe it's possible. I think we live inside our minds, so "accessing alternate dimensions or realities" is just about shifting your state of being, or your state of mind. Mind is reality. So when it's changed, so too is reality. Psychedelics allow for this. Not sure why this isn't a bigger deal to some people.

How can one distinguish between a profound psychedelic experience and a potentially delusional episode?
For safety: If the episode is ever telling you to hurt yourself or someone else, it's delusional. Otherwise, I think the boundary between delusion and reality is actually pretty thin.

Has anyone ever undergone a decorporation or out-of-body experience while using psychedelics? How did you interpret and integrate such an experience?
I've never had an OBE. Not sure what you mean by decorporation. However, I always get a sense of depersonalization, where I see my body as a "stranger" to my experience, in a sense. Or, maybe, it just feels inexplicable having an avatar to begin with.

Can you recommend any scientific or academic resources that might help me understand the quantum aspects of my experience better?
I'm just stepping into cognitive scientist Donald Hoffman's work, and I thought it was pretty good. Here's a good clip on it:

I'm interested in discussing the potential implications of my experience for science, consciousness studies, or quantum mechanics. Are there any like-minded individuals here?
I'd like to stay in touch with you... I'll be around in this community. I'm not personally interested in approaching mysticism from a scientific angle though, as I find it limiting.

What advice would you give to someone looking to share a unique and potentially groundbreaking psychedelic experience with the scientific or spiritual community?
#1 thing is be prepared for a mixture of "trolls" or people who just genuinely disagree with you, but at the same time, you will be pleasantly surprised by the amount of people who have had similar experiences to you, or who resonate with your experiences. In my view, don't let the trolls and jerks get in the way of you finding connection with a larger community. There are people who see as you have seen, and felt as you have felt, so know that you are not alone.

Are there any specific subforums or threads on this site where I can delve deeper into topics related to psychedelic experiences and their broader implications?
If you haven't already, I would strongly recommend checking out the subreddit group "Psychonaut". It's great and filled with a lot of people with similar feelings as you.

How can I approach sharing my story in a way that fosters meaningful discussions and avoids misunderstandings or skepticism? Unfortunately, I now agree with the adage, "don't cast pearls before swine". Don't try to convince people who are impossible to convince. People mature in their own time. It's better, in my view, if you put your message out there and see people come to you, as opposed to you pushing it onto other people. It's more of a genuine approach, anyway.

I think, in your instance, you should publish a book on what you have written, get in touch with the right communities (this forum is good), and you will go miles.

**

tl;dr: Well done! Impressive writing!

I think the Cassandra effect is the veil, but not true.

Also in the mantra/japa yogas, and any such contemplative work, yes. Reports abound, unique and awesome.

Hello,
Thanks for your detailed answer ! Indeed, you have the eye. I'm fond of AI recently I even made a custom GPT to chat about that story as I didn't find people in my daily life to reflect on it since years. So I used it to rewrite properly the story, but here is the original if you want to read my old english plume, which is far less good. https://www.reddit.com/r/sciencefiction/comments/6j34zk/fiction_based_on_true_events_which_one/
Also, I do am Iris, but with a different name !
