No effect troubleshooting help needed

I recently have picked some really good looking blue meanies in the wild that have been ID'd by some pros here and elsewhere too.
Since I don't have a dehydrator, I have used a fan for drying them, for quite a long time (5-6 days nonstop). Humidity is superhigh here as it's tropics, so they didn't get cracker dry but after the 6 days some of it (I can't tell how many grams but around 10 medium size shrooms) has been consumed, but no effects, or so subtle that it's almost nonexistent. Being trashed during transport and mistaking the fungi for not active species (pan ants) can be ruled out. What could be the problem? Too long drying?

that "drying" process has unfortunately destroyed most/all of the goodies. you want to get all the moisture out as fast as possible. there are enzymes which naturally start breaking down the mushroom and its alkaloids as soon as its connection to the mycelial network is severed.
in nature this allows decomposition to take place after spores have been dropped, completing the fungal life cycle. every minute they sit around half dry they get slightly less potent due to both these enzymes and psilocybin's instability when exposed to water/oxygen. a dehydrator is a good investment. if that's not practical you can make tea with fresh fruit and freeze it indefinitely.

The drying process is not ideal, but it would not destroy most/all the goodies. I’ve done this before with cubensis and the shrooms have still remained fairly potent.
And this thing you say about the mushroom enzymes starting to break down the alkaloids as soon as the mycelial network is severed sounds like bull dust to me. The enzymes are always there doing their thing. They don’t just kick into gear as soon as the mushrooms are picked.
To me, it seems likely that you have a bunch of inactive Panaeolus mushrooms mixed in with maybe a few Panaeolus cyanescens. Just because you got an ID from some people here that are trusted identifiers doesn’t mean there is no doubt about what you have. Panaeolus sp. are notoriously difficult to tell apart, even for pros.

They will degrade quickly but not that quickly!

If they were indeed actives I'd guess they were simply inactive/very weak.
You've done shrooms before right? No meds or anything?

It is - or actually was - definitely active. Still had some tiny bits of effect but painfully little.

Thanks for the input! What is the best method for tea making? (temperature, time, etc)? If I freeze it, can it be stored for unlimited/very long time? And how do you dose the tea, is it always a trial and error thing?
If dehydrator/oven is not an option right now, what would you suggest for proper drying in tropical conditions? Could putting them under direct sunlight work or the heat is too much then?

I am pretty sure they were active at the time of picking. They all were blueing, I guess it's a 100% sign, isn't it? Well, very weak, can be. Interesting tho that this species is considered as the most potent active fungi.
No meds, last trip was long long months ago, so these also can be ruled out.
Dosing should be accurate, yeah.

It sure is hard to tell apart even for pros, but if the blueing is present, then that's pretty sure, ain't it?

Yeah if they’re blueing then they should be right.
Maybe you just picked some weaker ones… it happens
Refer to Northerner’s thread about shrooms not working. It’s stickied at the top of this forum.
All you can do now is just look for more and make sure you try them fresh to see how much your drying method is affecting things

Blueing is not a sure sign of actives. Several nonactives blue.

There are no non active Panaeolus that bruise blue, so OP’s shrooms are very likely Pan cyanescens

Next time I'd like to make a tea when it's still fresh and see how it works.

There’s a bunch of blue staining boletes, but they look nothing like Panaeolus sp. There might be others I’m forgetting, but I know none of them can be confused for Panaeolus sp.
There’s also a bunch of different mushrooms which look similar to Psilocybe cubensis but have blue pigment, not blue staining, such as Stropharia aeruginosa and Stropharia caerulea.

Some actives can be so low in actives that they mostly aren't active.
Seems like all things considered the shrooms are suspect.
If you're not on SSRI or other HT5 agaonists, haven't recently tripped/no tolerance, then the shrooms are questionable.
As for getting the most out of it, look up lemon tek on here.
