Restaurants? 2

Does anyone connect with local restaurants? I've found it to be very rewarding. Chef's eyes get real big when you show them wild mushrooms. It could still have dirt on it and they will say "most beautiful thing Ive ever seen"
For may years I would bring in a smallish size basket of whatever I was picking to a local breakfast joint. I'd get a breakfast and coffee and he'd put the mushrooms in his mushroom omelette.
I've taken them to Indian restaurants, Italian places, pizza joints. its the ultimate ice breaker.

That is super cool!
Had some good times amongst restaurant folks. My wife worked in the industry for a few years. Haven't personally brought any shrooms to them though!

I live and work on my friend's farm and our mutual chef friend has connected us with a few well regarded restaurants in Denver and it's exciting as shit. We have a couple whole hog roasts planned for next summer with a delicious BBQ joint and I absolutely cannot wait. We grow delicious vegetables and raise the best pork on the planet and these chefs manage to prepare them in ways that somehow make the final dish even more delectable.
I'm also gearing up to preserve more surplus crops for next season and the test spices I've made have already piqued the interest of these chefs.
We're not growing gourmet mushrooms yet but I'm going to make a push in January to get some oysters and lions mane going and I know there's demand for that in Boulder and Lyons.

We have a couple stumps that produce oysters that we’ve given to a particular local chef. We got to try some delicate squash and oyster mushroom soup he made with it.
