Just what I was looking for. After some initial success, I've failed spectacularly using monotubs, shoeboxes and too much $$$. Decided to try PF tek, which I should have done starting out. Since I already have a SGFC for edibles, I think I'll put a couple in there (dunk and roll) and a couple on the rack using the sandwich bags. Someone said, we tend to overthink things. That describes me perfectly.

So we don’t have to do the dunk and roll method with these at all?

Exactly. Like Bod wrote, wash away the verm protective layer, back into the jar, some hydrated verm/coir on top and finally a baggie on top for its own fruiting chamber. You don´t need to coat the cakes with verm, as they´re protected by the jar walls.

Nowadays, the recommended method to fruit BRF cakes is a water tub.
For this, you need to dunk n roll for sure.

First timer *waves cutely* I knew there would be things I would possibly mess up on or overthink. Well… I used a full spore syringe in my first half pint jar. It is colonizing more (at a full week today) than the other 4 that I used a diff syringe on. Is that going to mess my first jar up??

You just gave away spores worth of ~20 jars. Make a thread and show off some pics mate

See, I didn’t see where it said to put HYDRATED verm on top. I thought it was supposed to be dry. Thanks bro 🙏🏼

Dry verm to start. Once fully colonized, you brush away the dry verm and apply a casing layer. The casing layer can be coir, verm, coir and verm or lots of other things but either way the casing layer is at field capacity

Sooo today is week 2 of colonization and my jars have condensation on the inside. Is this normal or is it going to create contamination?

thank you so much. not only is this everything i needed, but it saved me so much time. I was gonna buy a larger plastic monotub, but your box/bag method makes it so accessible! I really needed to have a small setup.
