Adding nutrients to logs?
    #28590001 - 12/19/23 03:27 PM (1 month, 9 days ago)

We supplement sawdust when we grow in bags and it got me thinking.  Wouldn't logs benefit from supplementation too?  Makes sense to me.  I was thinking logs could get soaked in a really thin oatmeal or wheat bran solution for forcing flushes, or maybe even PC the logs in it before inoculating.  Has anyone ever tried this or even heard of ppl doing this?  How would you go about this if you were gonna try?  How would you make your solution?

i would grind the logs into a fine dust, then you could evenly mix in a nutrient source like bran or oatmeal as you say. Then sterilize and inoculate and press it back into a log shape.

truly the beauty of log cultivation imo is the simplicity. logs as a host have everything they need already, only awaiting a guest.
