Odd spots on my peyote

Just found these odd brown divots on my peyote plant. I looked her over and the spots are not squishy, nor are they oozing. The soil looks to be pest free, but I did not dig too deep into the soil. I did water her a few days ago, but it has been close to the month since her last drink.
Any idea what is going on here, or am I just being paranoid?

Once a month, and thoroughly when I do... Her current home is a three inch square pot (needs repotted), and lives in a homemade soil mix of sifted cactus soil, course sand, limestone chips and perlite.

That looks kinda like rust to me. I've lost many a loph to that little brown spot. It gets bigger and bigger and then they go to that big desert in the sky. It's kinda early to tell for sure. IMO , if it starts to enlarge ,what I have done with limited success is to cut it completely out and use a fungacide.
It looks quite wet at the bottom. Dry that baby out.

Thanks for the warning . I just hope it's not the rust....
The soil it actually pretty dry, along with the loph.. I think the mark that looks soggy was the water line from the last time I watered her. I have seen it before, usually after I water.

Recovery is possible even after it progresses very far.

There is hope
If the rust were to progress; my procedure would be to take a scalpel and to cut the infection out. Now my question is should I use Sulphur powder on the wound, or a specific fungicide?
Thanks all! Gotta love the shroomery

Sulphur will help to suppress germination of more spores. The loph I pictured was treated with surgery and air flow only.

i hate that rust colered stuff. it tends to spread and death is not far behind.
your paranoia is justified. i have lost many to that stuff.
keep a good eye on it or cut it off completely and use sulfur dust on the wound.

Thanks ferrel!
While on my lunch break, I did some googling and found a few websites suggesting that rust can come from recent watering and a cold air draft on the plants.. This rings a bell in my head, as a couple days after I watered her last week, our outdoor low temperature got down to about 55.. Now I do keep my yotes indoors on my bedroom windowsill.. The bedroom window across the room happened to be open that night, and I do recall waking up in the morning freezing..
Does this sound like a potential culprit? I have not changed anything in my routine for my yotes for the few years I've owned them, so finding this rust was a shock!
Thanks again!!

Keep hope alive indeed. These cacti have a strong will to survive apparently.

Thanks for the reassurance SuperD!
What I'm worrying about right now is i am leaving for three days to go on a short trip.. I'm worried ill come back and fine that the rust has spread into the core of the yote. Do yall think I can survive a weekend away without coming back and finding a dead plant?

get rid of them rocks too. they tend to hold in moisture which is the last thing you want.

OP: It looks a bit like spider mite damage to me, you may want to check your plant for tiny little webs, specially at the areoles, and at the apical meristem, the solution is simple, its just to brush your cactus very delicately (preferrably with a painting brush, not your toothbrush), and if you see some 'dust' com off of it, or webs collecting at the brush, you got your diagnostic for sure.
Thats just a little 'battlescar', its very common for Lophos to host spider mites, for they love the furry areoles. Unless you realize your house, and your whole neigborhood has a real spider mite problem (it happens, I've seen it already), spider mites are a common little issue with most if not all cacti, but not really an annoyance.
For the hitchhiker post in the end, it looks like your plant had a bit of a rot, but recovered completely. Could be a sign of too much water, but it looks nice.
