Dried Turkey Tails.

So, I harvested pounds of these guys from this summer into the fall. I didn't have anything to store them in but old pretzel containers, which are not air tight. I have had them stored in my dark cool closet. so, these should all still be good right? I mean even with the containers not being air tight.

Thanks for looking.

I see the moisture absorbing packs thats good but, did you dehydrate them before putting them in the jar?

Well I'd say they should be good still. If you're wanting to store them for longer though I would move them to air tight jars with fresh desiccant packets. You got a boat load of em there you should look into making your own extract!

Thanks! I have way more than this, it's why I was worried about them going bad or not.
I wish that I could make my own extract, but I don't have the means, unfortunately.

It's probably easier than you think! Turkey tail is higher in beta-glucans(water soluable stuff) than terpeniods(alchohol solvable stuff) so simply giving them a long simmer and reducing the water down can give you some good juice to add to your coffee. But even a dual extract isn't to complicated. Jump on YouTube check it out.

Making some tea is great but the dried fruits will stay shelf stable way longer than a water extract alone (in case it's not obvious).
