Not 100% sure what conditions led to this but it's going to be interesting to see how they mature! Could be the new-to-me substrate mix based on cultivation parameters from mycelia.be

Thank you for your advice.I'm going to flip the lid to increase FAE. I have the same genetics starting to pin in a shoebox in SGFC. I think they have a little more FAE. we'll see if they react better.

Currently working some antler reishi, "liberty" oysters[Fort Liberty, NC], and of course the ever popular lions mane. I do apologize for not including classification terms. I'm not that literate on those quite yet.
P.s.- I have this little "voodoo child" gifted to me by one of my spirit sisters from New Orleans, LA. I have a deep spiritual permanent connection to that specific region of the US. ANYWAYS enjoy famm.

Had some blocks sitting outside for a couple days ready to be composted and as I’m emptying them into the piles I came across this beetle right on one of the slits where my blues grew from. Y’all ever seen any shit like this? Didn’t realize the photo was so bad, oops.

My first gourmets! Over ripe shiitake on a oak log inoculated with dowels last summer. I went to my in-laws for Thanksgiving today and found them.

hey, I have two bags with shiitake 3790 grain. both are ready, but one is thick white (~5 weeks to achieve that) another one is transparent like Lion's mane myc (3 weeks). For oysters or lion's mane it doesn't matter I know, but what about shiitake?

Doesn't really matter, only has the curiosity going as to why they are different from each other. Perhaps moisture content in the grains varied from bag to bag?

First proper attempt at growing Lion's Mane:

Culture was provided by Shrimp ( )
- LC to wheat.
- Woodchips are local, they were soaked for a week in order to be hydrated to the core (they'd been dried for close to 2 years) and then PC'ed.
- The woodchips unicorn bag was then inoculated with a jar of the fully colonized wheat.
- When all woodchips were fully colonized, and LM fruits started to form I opened the unicorn bag.
- A week later, for aesthetics purposes I cut off most of the unicorn bag, and moved it to a Pasty EZD with water at the bottom.
This is a quick attempt at growing LM with the stuff I have lying around. It isn't optimized at all. I haven't kept track of dates. I just wanted to get my feet wet and then try Forrester's Double extraction method to supplement and see the effects of LM on me.
If I keep trying growing LM in this Pasty EZD, I'll probably need to drill more holes as this fruit lacks FAE.
I'm very excited by this new project.

Edit: just noticed this is my #666 post

Beautiful start. I have Lion's Mane in tubs as a back burner project, too. Will be starting that back up in 2024. Here is my journal of how I was doing it and where I am heading.

Sweet! I'll check it out now.
Mushroom Love is also looking for a way to grow nice LM in a tub setup.
It'd be great to come up with some kind of "standard" one (see the trend here?! ) in 2024.

I do. I have a whole other locked journal tracking a project for something in that vein, but I don't want to make any claims until I have a good amount of proof of concept. I admire the way that Pasty did a ton of testing and proofs of a best method before releasing his EZ Dial tub tek. I don't want to add confusion as I keep making tweaks and adjustments.
I just semi-retired to open a consulting practice, so I am home a lot more. Now this and other cultivation projects can get a lot more attention for 2024.
Nothing new to show until I start back up after the new year, so here is something old I posted before for pic tax. Lion's Mane "Crab" cakes.
