I can’t be 100% sure those aren’t libs. Maybe something like Psilocybe pelliculosa instead? Can’t be sure from that one photo

If they’re not Psilocybe then maybe they could be Deconica?

I really don’t know to be honest

I'm not convinced regarding what these are. They might be a Deconica species, but they also might be Psilocybe, even
Psilocybe semilanceata, or perhaps something closely related.

Are the pictures fresh, taken recently?
Do you have the possibility of asking the photographer to take pictures of the gills and entire stem?
Also an overview shot of the general habitat would be helpful.

Judging by this picture only it's 99% semilanceata. What is the elevation, perhaps it came down, if this is found now in december. Until more data is provided I don't see many candidates here besides semilanceata.

Must be p.semilanceata. I've found them at much greater altitudes than 600m.

Doesn't look much like P. serbica.

P. semilanceata can typically occur in grass along forest roads.
Elevation seems very adequate as well. Hope your buddy finds more and takes loads of pictures.

Remind him that gill shots are of good help.

Thats will be very strange. I pick them at 2000 m elevation. Less i found was at 1500 m. They may goes to 1200 meters but 600 m sound crazy for Balkans. Lets see im interesting to see what will come from this.

It's not serbica, if habitat was different Psilocybe medullosa could be brought up as candidate, however these don't look very much like medullosa either. I believe it's just semilanceata, I agree it's surprising seeing it below 1000m in the Balkans, but it happens, my first and only find to date is slightly bellow 900m.

Book about brain strokes and Mycena on it :laugh2:

Anyway, I don't think that's the same mushroom as the original, it has a watery stem in different color, also a different cap texture...

Book? Cigarette pack I think, lol.

Super dissapointed about the Mycena. Was hoping for some more Psilocybe action here.

Oh yeah, its a cigarette, haha looked like a book cover at first glance, the picture threw me of, cool to see they put pictures in Bulgaria as an anti smoking warning, we get text only in Serbia :crazy2:

and if it turns out to be Mycena, damn, from up above it tricked me hard. still having doubts though, that it's the same as the first one...but, as maimunji said, liberty in the Balkans in december at that altitude is really pushing it

I doubt that the OP pictures are Mycena.

Same doubts here, even leptocephala would need steroids to look like that, and latter found Mycena certainly does not match the original as well.

So the guy probably found strayed liberty, might easily be the lowest altitude find in the Balkans, but then went back and found a lookalike, at least in his eyes. Case closed due to incompetence.
