Looks a wee bit sub-ish.  No bruising?

If my understanding is correct I think they are synonymous.  H. marginatum being the current name.  Unless it’s the other way around? :justdontknow:

You got me... names change so much it makes my head spin sometimes... I seem to recall a database called ITIS that would tell you all the synonyms and what the currently name in use was for everything with a scientific name... but I can't seem to find it anymore.

H. dispersum is the current name in Norway, at least.
Searching Index Fungorum gives both names, but not as synonyms.
MO gives a little of both, with emphasis on H. dispersum.

In the end I don't think it's that crucial since we know what species we're discussing.

No matter what you call it what you really want to know is probably this...

Which is Paul Stamets telling you all about how it can be an indicator species for PNW Psilocybe

I was certainly curious if they were pellies, but I'm really enjoying the back and forth.  Nuance not present in books.

For what it's worth, I also guessed that you might've been considering P. pelliculosa for these :ducklol:

I'm curious about these... they were colorful and thus attracted my attention.. but I've no idea of what they really are. At first I thought they might be dispersum pins, but I don't think they are that bright...
