For those who don't like twisting mushrooms out of the substrate. A simple harvesting tool. Needs a handle, in this case 1/2” dowel, a cheap blade, eg from a hobby knife set, a small gauge screw.![]() Cut a small angle into one end, so the blade is at an angle. Drill a hole in the angled end, only the shank diameter, screw the blade on, taking care not to strip the end grain by over tightening. It can be screwed either way, blade edge to push away, or pull towards you.

I use aquarium scissors like SPG posted and they work very well.
I still go back and forth on whether I prefer cutting or plucking.

"Case in point"
For your Americanization.
I have to confess, I thought it was "case and point" until now. Apparently not, so I learned something today too.

That's moot point, but don't worry. Even a blind squirrel is right twice a day.

For anyone using a blow torch, those little turds love to fall over at the most inconvenient times as the reservoir gets low and it subsequently gets more top heavy, bought a stack of small magnets that not only weigh it down but also semi magnetises it to my racks, I no longer want to punch it after it falls into an open plate.
