Appreciate you goatboy 🐐 @yoshitrainer I keep forgetting that's a thing. Might try some of myceliated corn from the extra pint I found... Appreciate the reminder! Have to find the dosing guide on here...

Unfortunately I don’t have pics but has anyone else had an issue with semps pinning prematurely after spawned to coir? Mine seem to colonize just a like a millimeter from each grain and then start knotting up. Experimenting now with both layering and higher spawn ratios to see if I can take advantage of a fast fruiter

Damn it! There's fusarium in there. Some good chunks of mycelium too, but they are awful close to each other. The myc still may out run it, but it's definitely going back to agar for clean up. Either way the original genetics are alive so that makes me happy. Would have been nice to avoid another one in save mode though.

That's probably a good idea. Especially spawn ratio. Is the same batch of coir working for anything else?

Okay guys. Call me a liar or an idiot but I am getting ready to die on a hill.
Using the same culture of "melgo" fast subtropicalis from the same inoculation li jar created from a multigeneration clone.
I squeezed my coir sub so dry it farted dust. Pins in 12 days. I now generally use well under field capacity sub. Pins in 20 - 24 days. I just ran a tub at field capacity. First pin today at 67 days.
Need to repeat this a bunch of times and get some others to reproduce it, but I am ready to call this more than anecdotal.

That doesn't surprise me.
I'm speculating that next, we'll confirm some people are just physically way more sensitive to Semperviva than others, thus explaining the huge dosage difference between people. And it'll be the end of the fast vs slow lineage theory.
Or maybe the fruits of the tub you ran at field capacity will be more potent, but I doubt it.

well, if i remember correctly, i heard Alan Rockefeller mention that longer fruiting makes for higher alkaloid levels. But he was also talking about newer findings from a german mycologist. Seemingly there are inhibitors at play (talking about psilocybe in general)... so, i guess it will remain difficult to have certainty.

I’m running nats as well and it works fine fire that. I’m going to try squeezing the shit out of it today, I have two quarts to spawn. Probably do a 1:2 in a 6qt shoe. I have supplies to make a peat verm casing currently en route.
What’s the consensus on casing at spawn or closer to full colonization?

I do. Case at full colonization + a day or two, or ten. I’ve been growing in bags, and sometimes I’m lazy. They may be fully colonized for quite a while before I get around to cutting them open and casing.

I'm down to replicate, give sub moisture another look. I'll have plenty of spawn to play with in the coming months as I dick around with the wild ones.
I tossed this tub in the martha immediately after harvesting flush one. Keeping it very wet. I want bigger prints so I'm keen on taming the curl. Seeing if this will do the trick, as heavy misting hasn't been enough. Though the fruit in the corner is not exactly boosting my confidence.

Only ten? Pretty much the same here.
These aren't so bad but most exotics do not like an early casing so I just do everything late.
