Good morning folks
So there has been a fair amount of good wet stuff falling in the Brisbane/Sunshine Coast region this past week.Just wondering if any local finds have been had so far. I dare say the next week will explode 💣

Don’t think there’s too many on here from SE QLD… but you should start to find them after a couple of good rains.

There used to be loads of SEQ members back in the day and some really cracker dedicated threads to the area.
I will get out there on the weekend and report back with my findings.

Oh right, maybe there’s more than I thought and they just don’t post very often?
Good luck!

Best thing you can do. You can also check mushroomobserver.org and inaturalist.org and search for relevant finds in your area.
As far as I can see, there are few finds from November from any year. But those are only the registered ones.

Hey there! I’m on the NSW/QLD border, reports of pans in the surrounding valleys with a few cubes spotted, this recent rain will make for some awesome hunting in the next few days, I’m going out today for a scout and will report back (:

I'm a bit further west, but yeah even after bushfires I'm getting a few pans popping up.

They're not what you're after unfortunately.

I've come from p. sub country and now live in SEQ and am brand new to cub hunting.
Conditions wise, solid rain in SEQ the last few days but has it been humid enough for cubs?

Sounds like perfect conditions for cubes.

Yeah I think it’s the very beginning of the season down there. They’ll kick off more soon once more rain and humidity comes.

Do people door knock and ask to walk farmers pastures or just walk toward the first cow you see?

I've never asked anyone, don't see why anyone would care, but things might be different around the world.

If you can it's a good idea to ask, courtesy is worldwide, plus no-one wants an angry farmer pointing a shotgun at them...lol. But seriously when we get rain there's plenty of normal mushrooms that 99% of farmers are happy to let you hunt for and it's not likely they're going to care what you pick.

I use Google Earth to find paddocks that have a National Park/State forrest that adjoins the land then just hop over and go about my business quietly...Pro tip-If opening a gate make sure to close it behind you, don't fuck with the cattle and don't ruin the fences. Also helps to pick up any rubbish you find that way if the farmer does catch you you can say that you're also picking up rubbish as well as fungi
