Found a few allenii just now seeing how some of my irrigated spots are doing, Redwood City area. We all know as soon as it rains it's on 😁. I'll post pictures soon, had to go home to gear up to hunt.

The weather has been so dry, even after a day of rain, it’s followed by 5 consecutive days in the 80’s with a dry wind.
Friends, if you look at the next two weeks, it’s looks wet, and never getting warmer than 67-68.
It’s time to get your walking shoes ready.

Right you are, microclimates and well irrigated spots are worth checking after the recent cold spell though. Off to collect what I scoped out earlier. Hopefully we all have a good bountiful year this year. Happy hunting to all whenever it begins officially.

Previous El Niño years have been very productive years. Hopefully that continues. Happy hunting everyone!

I think we need to consolidate to a single thread. There are like 3 of them.

Yes keep going with this one, this was the first one
Maybe Stranger69 can change the name to ‘Official’ with little stars ⭐️ like they do for the PNW and nordic ones
In any case, Im gonna post on this thread this season

Yeah. This season start is so slow compared to the last 2 years. But seems like it should kick off pretty soon. I’ve visited several of my spots and haven’t seen much of anything at least in SF proper. Up north I think is a different situation.

Are those regular Bay Area allenii or Australian genetics? They got that neat looking umbo.
Cool to see things get going down there!

I don’t know. I made a post last year specifically about this mutant colony I had found and suspected to be azures. There we’re differing opinions on them last year. Many said azures, another said subs, and Alan said mutated cyans. I’m still up in the air. I think the area I hunt was started by a fellow shroomery member, and it seems to have at least 2, if not 3, distinct Psilocybes flourishing there. Also, it’s not true Bay Area. I hunt hills of the Sac Valley a few hours away. aid they were mutant cyans that I had found last year. They do have a very peculiar look to them. Definitely not like the allenii or even cyan to me.

Nice Dandurn! I decided to check some of my spots today, and ended up in my favorite hunting zone and guess what? Cyans in SF! I found 3 fairly significant flushes, left lots of pins, and harvested the biggest ones. Not bad since I thought I wouldn't find anything out there and we've really only had a small amount of rain and fairly high temperatures nearing 70.

Nice finds! Love to see it starting to happen in SF! Some real rain over the next few days, overnight temps starting to drop into the 40s.

My natural spot finally popped this week. No irrigation or landscaping. Under Fir with huckleberry bushes. Ate one fresh for the hike out. The taste was much worse than i remember and i didn't really feel any effects. Thinking about making some liq. culture and spraying the neighborhood. Imagine mass sporulation.
