Were you able to figure out what was causing your tubs not to fruit? I'm having the same issue right now, like yourself my first attempts using cakes and whole grains went extremely well and now I've been having issues for months and only got one tub to fruit.

NO. I have been busy and not able to start another grow. I have to assume some sort of contamination but never able so see or identify one. My plan is to use an older MS syringe and restart agar. I have pitched everything else including all my plate. Going to be a complete reboot

The OP hasn't been seen in 3 years - what makes you think he will magically come back to answer your question? Stop necroposting in dead threads.

And on the third day, I returned because you believed in meβ¦β¦β¦β¦
I doubt it was a genetic issue and more of probable contamination. You follow the rules and pay a ton of attention the first couple grows. Once you have success you start going full speed ahead. You also hate to trash the plates and such you have worked hard cultivating because it is a huge setback but sometimes you have to.
I had forgotten that the room I was doing my work in had a functional toilet in it (long story, it is a panic room). When I was moving stuff around I remembered it and noticed it was covered in nasty stuff because it is never used.
I think it is very unlikely that we isolated special genetics that do not fruit and much more likely we have contaminations or conditions that are not conducive.

Iβm curious, who do you think is trolling? Me for responding or the guy who dug up dead post? Maybe both of us?
The Honest story is that I still have notifications on. We tell people all the time to use the search feature and them yell at them when they revive a dead post that addresses their issue.

They don't need to revive a dead post to get the information from it. Even if a 20 year old thread dealt with their issue, they don't need to say "thanks for posting this" or "cool" or some dumb shit.
But I digress. I really just wanted to say that if I had a toilet in a panic room, I would ALWAYS use it!

I agree that resurrecting dead threads with words of encouragement is dumb.
It is a fun little cement room. Cement walls, floor and ceiling. Nice metal door. A toilet and what I call a prison shower. An opening in the ceiling of it leads to the master bedroom closet.
My wife put an offer on it before I had even seen it. She was worried I might not like the house. Um, it has a panic room!?!?!? Iβm 100% on board!!!
