Getting the spark back in a relationship? * 1
    #28528632 - 11/04/23 04:26 AM (2 months, 23 days ago)

How common is this? I mean in your experiences, how often does it really happen?

Me and my wife have been together forever and I've always loved her, but things have been kind of dull for a long time.

So here's the thing, we have it back, and it's fucking crazy. Not only is the spark back, but we're doing more and growing closer then we ever have before.. It's literally everything I've wanted for years and gave up on ever getting again.

I feel like things are way too good. I don't know what's gonna happen, but I just feel it in my gut. I'm going to get just enough to get used to it and then somehow it's gonna get taken away.

I guess what I want to hear is it happens all the time, somehow that would be comforting. Like there's nothing special going on between us and it's just the normal progression of a marriage. But from what I've seen from my own family and stuff, it doesn't happen. If people start growing apart, they tend to keep doing it until there's a chasm between them.

Yeah stress has it pretty nail on head w the waves.
Convergence however ya wanna put it.
People grow as they age and In a relationship hip that can seem like ebbs and flows of closeness, intimacy, compatability just after whatever two ppl can connect over.
So ride the waves man be glad yall have love together for so long and can come back in this wonderful way.
Glad for you.

Well, I am. This is one of the few periods in our lives where if something did happen, I wouldn't be able to look back and wish I said this or did that. Things got comfortable for too long and we've been taking each other for granted. Not in a bad way, but just not living to the fullest, like we're gonna live forever and we've already did everything.

I mean even before we almost never fought, I think we had our first sort of fight after over a year just the other day.. and within an hour we were already made up and having fun again.

An argument can be the thing that proves that both ppl are still invested too. Comfortable ppl that aren't in it to "win" it, don't have much reason to go back and forth. Great things man glad you are appreciating these things
