combined 75% colonized organic millet pint cake with about 5 or 6 sterilized pints of organic millet. crumbled cake and mixed with uncolonized millet in a 5 gallon bucket. looked a little too wet so i added some vermiculite to the mix (about 1 cup). covered bucket with tin foil. poked a few holes in it to help reduce condesation inside. mycelia growing very nicely. the bucket is being incubated at about 86 degrees as well. should be fully colonized in only a few more days. mixed it up only 3 or 4 days ago. it's colonizing fast- lots of thick mycelia.

trying to decide what to do with it once it's fully colonized. can casing soil (moist 50/50+) just be placed on top (in the bucket) and have it fruit in the bucket. the substrate layer would be at least 2 or 3 inches thick. would it need further humidification? or would fanning and misting work just as well? should i take the substrate out of the bucket and lay it out in another container instead? may add more uncolonized sterilized millet and multiply the substrate further. what does everyone think?

any advice is greatly appreciated. thanks.
