Id try to avoid the processed fake-meat stuff, a lot of it is loaded with garbage that makes it probably worse than just eating meat
If you look up different southeast Asian and Middle Eastern recipes they have loads of vegetarian dishes with incredible flavor. I'm too lazy to worry about macro and micro nutrients so I'd probably just find a quality multivitamin to make sure I was covering my bases, and make sure my protein intake was decent if I was every trying to go plant based

I've spent decades trying to incorporate plant-based food into my diet and have constantly had various gut problems. Recently I've tried a new approach that has resulted in health advantages for many people. I've eliminated all plant-based foods from my diet and have experienced significant benefits to my gastrointestinal system, my mental health, and I've lost my belly fat. We must stop demonizing animal products and glorifying plant-based foods.

I had a college class where the professor spent a lot of time demonizing meat and animal products. It took 40 years for me to hear another side of the story, and the nutritional science behind it.
The issue is contaminated by politics. You will never see CBS 60 Minutes interview a panel of people who have not eaten plant-based foods for ten or twenty years, and an evaluation of their health. It would never happen.

Hmm, without getting all political and stuff.. i tried a 7 day vegan challenge, and see my username.. it changed my life for the better and it has become my lifestyle. A few weeks back I wanted to experiment how it would be to eat meat again, bought some of the best organic meat availavle. It tasted okay, i thought.. well it was okay not bad not good. A few hours later i gotten really sick though. Maybe my body wasn't used to it anymore or something. But well, since I've gone vegan I've experienced many health benefits so I would recommend it to anyone. However, if you google that veganism is great, you'll get results, and if you google that eating animal products is great you'll get results. So, I would just experiment and see what suits best for you, and what seems right for you.

I second this whole post. Avoid the meat/cheese substitutes; they are usually loaded with garbage. At that point, high quality meat is better imo.
Multi-vitamin and some mineral support (magnesium / zinc / iodine).
Leafy greens are the goods. I don't know if they are ever really pleasant to eat, but.
A whole-food diet can work very well, especially if the whole foods are on the alkalizing side of the ph scale.

I eat curry most nights. The bulk of the ingredients come from cans though. I don't know how you feel about that

I was ate plant based for 4 years. And I felt great. And I loved it until the last year. I got busier and lazier. I started eating more carbs and gained weight. I stopped and lost all the weight and some. For me, I felt the best when I ate plant based. I am to busy and needed to make changes. I still eat pretty healthy. I still avoid somethings. I did not do it because of animals or cruelty, etc. I was looking for something that worked best for me. And I felt amazing!!!! The differences were huge. Until I changed how I was eating. Choose what works best for you. I think everyone is different and needs to do what they feel is right. And the judgement is odd to me, but to each their own. Try different things or just be more mindful. I try to eat to feed my body as opposed to what I desire. Not always successful. Not a big meater, I steer away from dairy but I have been eating cheese, I do eat eggs now, leafy greens in everything. I add spinach and kale to most foods. I hate kale. I cant stand the taste of it raw. I use kitchen scissors and cut it up so small and put it in eggs or whatever. Also spinach, I put it in a lot of things. And it is so small I dont taste it. What kind of recipes? I made noodles with veggies for lunch. Fast and easy.

I changed my eating habits recently after learning about the devastating effects of insulin resistance. And how it contributes to T2 diabetes, visceral belly fat (the most dangerous type of fat accumulation), high blood pressure, and other significant health problems.
I remember when people told me eating every 2 hours was healthy, as they at foods that spiked insulin levels. My old boss used to tell me to eat every 2 hours, as he ate a "healthy" Clif Bar with 22 grams of sugar!

I think we have all been told very unhealthy ways to eat. And contradicting things. For me I do what I think is best for my body. And what works for me might not work for others.

Not that long ago millions were told that margarine is healthy!
And the "food pyramid" was one of the biggest lies ever created.

I'm thin with a fast metabolism. I was always told the same thing. Eat multiple times a day every few hours.
The more I research, it seems fasting and eating LESS often is the real secret.
