Nah, idr what insta account it was, but they were advertising these monsters. Someone bought a few, expanded and then shared them. Others with it have gotten huge fruits lol, I've been on the mini train with them.
Not sure the spore situation, but I am thinking about trying to swab something and try again from there.

Not great but the jars were questionable, so I'll take it.

when you thought the culture was clean but it's still harboring a terrorist mold

not sure if the best route is continuing to clean the culture, or to take a spore swab of one of the plins and restart

It does not have to be your culture, it could also be your grain that has not been sterilized correctly, or you made a mistake transferring your culture to grain

I'd almost bet it's not the culture.

If you have plate pins just pull it off the plate and drop it onto a new plate. Boom, clone culture. No need to mess around with swabbing and starting from spores if you already have a pin which was grown in a sterile environment.
And, it's already been pointed out, but mold doesn't always mean if your culture. You could have been a little sloppy inoculating your jar, the grains could have been improperly prepped, incomplete sterilization, etc.

You can put coir and spawn into just about anything and it’ll grow.
Nothing new to take pictures of so here’s one from way back when I grabbed some dead grass from the yard and dropped some wbs in.

just coco coir (no verm this time) and colonised rye flipped the lid when the myc knotted, et voilá
(first time, with this culture tho.. but I have my suspicion that unmod contributed for this slow pace...)
