Genesis movie list & Reviews 1

Tommy boy. (this guy is a lot like me.š¤£) This Director was a student of psychology. An incredible story. About the love of the father and the legacy. This can teach you a lot of really important things to know in your life. With real implications. If you understand what youāre seeing that is. Brilliantly made. well shot. David spade and Chris Farley genuine BFF energy pores in to the movie in every scene.
This knows that humor is the best way to teach. Look at the fools. Learn from them. Guess which one of the hobbits is in the movie?
This will be an overtime thing. But a lot of the reviews are going to come from the wonderful input that Iāve received in the best movie for the come up thread that I made. For everyone who has contributed. Thank you so much.
This is going to be my personal favorite. I am more than open to having suggestions given to me. So that I can make my review. This will be a list of all of my favorite movies.

The main character seems inexplicably drunk for the entire film. This movie definately deals with nepotism as a topic. His lack of maturity does allow for quite the dynamic character that is very relatable to young men. Over the course of the film. He grows into the man that he always shouldāve been. He decides what heās going to be. Teaches about growth, maturity, and moderation. The constant struggle of the character is punctuated in some, creative ways. By the end, thereās no way that you wouldnāt be on his side. It was a very inspirational film. But it didnāt take itself too seriously. Plenty of physical comedy. Some really good one-liners. Norm McDonald makes for an amazing drunk friend. Plus, it has one of the goofiest bus drivers youāll ever see.

If you didnāt like the ending to the book. But thought it was a good story. You would absolutely love this movie. Itās like they finished it. This has a magical air to it almost like the Princess bride.
This movie gives Mondego nothing At the end of it. Just like he deserves. While Mercedes gets to prove a deep love for Edmond. As opposed to other iterations. Visually stunning. Provocative soundtrack. Quotable. āIām a count, not a saint.ā
The stories about true love. Itās about vengeance. But most importantly, itās about forgiveness. If youāve ever felt wronged. This movie will make you feel right.
Truly, one of the most magnificent stories Iāve ever seen.

Play this as you read.
The english dub makes this much better with few exceptions. Not that the original audio isnāt incredible. But thereās just some sort of charm to it. The person who does the voice for Itto is incredible. While it also gives you just a touch of humor. Do you know those old dubs. They donāt really match the mouth. It makes what theyāre doing, and saying seem just slightly funny. Which you would think takes away from it. This only adds to the enjoyment.
Each movie gets better in the series. Until 4. This is no way detracts from number 5. Itās just 4 was the pinnacle. It was the best one. IMO
Some of the themes are. Honor, loyalty, & vengeance.
Itās also a very quotable movie
āShow me your strongest manā
āJuneiā
To this day, if I name a plant Junei. My friends know that thing is doomed to die horribly. The martial arts are real. Such a deep respect did the Director have for the Manga the story was based from. That, after the first movie, even though it was a masterpiece. He didnāt think it was good enough. He then went to Japan to study this sword style. Im not saying there isnāt some exaggerations in the movements. It is a movie. But legitimately they are displaying arts of shinobi, bushido, & Sword craft. This makes it infinitely more pleasing to watch.
They use other things that were actual concepts. Such as the road sign. Something I still use to this day because of this movie. The closest we have to something like that now is homeless code.
Thereās something so pure about an assassin that is incorruptible. Once he has been paid his fee. And he has agreed to kill someone. You could offer this man all the money on the Earth. Nothing would stop him from completing his assignment.
The constant theme of father and son. The bond they share. The last of their family line. Is deeply touching. As soaked in blood as the story is. What it really is about. Is earning back the honor that was stolen from his family and son. If his mission was completed, his son would be free and clear to walk Japan, as a free man.
This was also the best time in warfare I would say. Purely in my opinion. I think that guns & explosives cheapen the fight. They let you pretend you didnāt do what you did. Back then, men had to fight with blades. They needed to look each other in the eye. Explosives existed, but they were very rare and expensive. Which meant that you could be very creative and innovative, and show people that for the first time. It just makes for the most interesting Warcraft in my opinion.
Objectively we will always be on his side. Because he was used as a scapegoat to further someones selfish aim. What could be more compassionate than a father defending his son from a lie & murder.
This integrates themes of Buddhism directly into their existence. It is a part of their life. He is a practicing Buddhist. He had a shrine in his home.
This was so well written back in the day. That even the content based off of this comic book. Will be able to teach you things.
ā I guess I just wish the world was different. But a wish is only a wish.ā š
Scale of 1 to 5. S Masterpiece
Each movies Theme I ~vengeance II ~greed III ~the violence perpetuated against women IV ~Loyalty V ~The love between a father and son.
Warning. Japan was and still is different in some ways.

I would give this a solid 4 out of five. Well written āWhere did the poop go?ā Very quotable film. Amazing cast
Stiller and black work really well together. It feels like thereās some definite camaraderie going on. Lotta funny scenes. A lot of good physical comedy.
They really talk about Innovation, creation, acceptance, and openness. How friendship can transcend the environment. How you can forget the people that kept you going until you were able to make it. Forgiveness. That would be the main theme of this film.
Do you like Ben Stiller or Jack Black at all? Odds are you will enjoy this film. Christopher Walken is the crazy guy!

This movie is breathtakingly beautiful. The subject matter is provocative and taboo.
The characters are charming & human.
The entity is fascinating⦠This is a story about two brothers, coming together after a betrayal. To forgive each other. All while trapped in a pocket universe inside a God. A naughty God. The dialogue is powerful. But it doesnāt take it self so seriously that It canāt make you laugh.

Play the drums of Jumanji.
A provocative question. Would you like to play? This movie is about not taking something for granted. Itās about overcoming obstacles. Your in for some really fun time travel implications. Robin Williams manages to be a comedic gem as always. The orphans are charming and funny, because they are actually good actors. Not all child stars are. The creatures and monsters that come out of the game are very charming. They used a lot of practical effects. So while you can tell they arenāt real animals. Thereās some bad CGI. Itās still charming & very enjoyable. Itās also deals with the contentious subject of how easy it is to get a gun.
With a lot of chaos caused with each move. From start to finish itās quite the game. I would playā¦

This movie has a brilliant author.
An excellent lawyer.
Thereās a whole host of goofy characters that come in and out.
The drugs these people have taken. Are not to be played with without respect.
That being said, itās a hilarious view. Really well shot. Excellent light. Excellent cinematography.
What people donāt understand before theyāve tried these drugs. Is that it isnāt about the drugs at all. Itās about stripping away your ego. Really talking to someone. The conversations in this movie are what really make it worth watching. Amazing dialogue.

Horror/comedy
This Director probably did a lot of mushrooms. With a really fun cast of anime characters made in to real people. This is very visually creative. Really interesting movie. It is horrifying. Auntie is hilarious and likes playing jokes. But it is also very funny. A lot like evil dead two in that way. I would suggest this to anyone on the come down.

This is a review of the entire series.
This movie is about family, honor, loyalty, and the criminal world. It teaches you a lot about tradition and and even more about what it means to be the boss. This movie can make you cry, laugh, and smile. Retribution leads to vengeance. You donāt need to like the main character. To be able to respect that he is the godfather. At the end. You will be left with that feeling. That hopefully you have left the world a better place. Because it will keep on spinning, long after youāre gone. An existential masterpiece.

This is the perfect marriage of horror and comedy. This film is a nonstop joy ride through the haunted forest. With incredible physical comedy. Wonderful practical effects. Plus, a very small dedicated team a very talented people. Sam Raimi made this. With a sense of humor straight from the overlook hotel. Ash is a very strong survivor. That leaves you always on the verge of laughing while watching him struggle.
It also set you up for a really excellent sequel. While not as horrifying. It is much more funny.
This is the kind of movie that if you saw it as a child. You would think about it for the rest of your life.
The imagery is haunting. Truly, a cult masterpiece.

Riches!
The plot is to take the chance. Everyone else is crazy, not you. A man on a mission will make the impossible happen to reach for the stars. To build an opera house is their reason for being. Now he just needs a steam liner to climb a mountain to do it.
This movie trancends itself. The events in this film are real⦠This has a feeling to it, like your lossing your mind on the river of madness. An actual tribe was hired and is filmed. The actual spectacle really happened. This is a metaphorical journey of a man trying to conquer death itself. The characters are deeply human and very easy to feel empathy for. The pay off is outrageous.
Out of 5 S Should be viewed at least once. It is incredibly rare so good luck.

Thereās only one rule about fight club. You need to tell every cool person you meet to watch it if they havenāt seen it at least once.
The insomnia is so well portrayed that youāll start to question what is an is not happening just as the character is. This movie makes you wonder what really matters. If anything matters. The characters are very powerful. Theyāve seen a lot. And they have a lot to say about it.
When youāre done. You realize the only thing that really means anything is what you make matter. With plenty of little insider jokes. This film is very well shot. Everything is done with a reason. So pay attention.
You might see something new the next time you watch.

This portrays a tyrant. Someone who wants to be the best. Who is willing to do whatever it takes to take that mantle. This man is hardened. His environment has produced quite the beast. You get to watch him roar & dominate his environment. This movie really teaches you the importance of tact & moderation.
Itās a very violent fun to watch film. But hard to watch too. Itās unapologetic in the portrayal of cruelty, that it takes to run an organization of criminals. This movie shows you what anger can do. It can take everything from you.

Disclaimer. This movie deals with harsh subject matter. Such as suicide. Not to be consumed without being in the proper mindset.
This movie is incredibly powerful. I donāt suggest ever re-watching this film, as it may lessen the initial experience. This movie is about an artist trying to move a mountain.. What youāre going to leave behind. Did anything you do actually matter? A prolific author and actor. Genuinely a very cool sounding dude. He has a very interesting perspective from a place that we canāt go to anymore. World War II Japan. This is a visually stunning, and a very well shot film. The stories are deeply moving. All of it is based off of a true story. When you get to the climax of the film. You will realize that there was never any other way it couldāve ended.

This movie is about death, life and everything in between. We follow the story of a young drug dealer. Then we are taken through a life cycle. We watch as it ends. We watch the aftershocks of what that meant. Then we get to see life begin again. In one linear journey. This is an incredible film. It can never be watched again. It seems like itās one of those movies. That even if you really love it. Re-watching it again would never have the same impact. This was incredibly powerful. It was also difficult to watch. It is very sad. But deeply moving. I would suggest this to anyone. Just be ready. Set yourself in the right mood and this is a one of a kind journey.

I really enjoyed this film. Because I enjoy the struggle of a man with no purpose. You watch this man attempting to live his life while deeply depressed from the war. The PTSD has left him an alcoholic. More so than just regular alcohol. He makes his own concoctions. You get to see this man struggle with fitting back in to regular society. Eventually he finds himself in the company of some powerful people. Theyāre talking about some thought experiments and past lives. Turns out theyāre actually developing a cult⦠Donāt have to worry about Freddie though. He canāt be changed.
Having watched people be processed through similar programs as this. Made this hit particularly hard. Itās a very empathetic character that youāre watching destroy themselves. Itās heartbreaking. But it manages to still be funny. Ultimately, Freddie represents the last remaining normal relationship the master ever had. A very powerful performance by Philip Seymour Hoffman & Joaquin Phoenix. This is definitely a movie to watch in a smoky lounge with a good drink beside you.

Disclaimer: Donāt ever see any sequels. This stands alone. Everything else made after the fact. Is trash.
This is a gritty violent noir. Color is used to an exceptional degree. Visually stunning. Excellent cinematography. Star set cast of excellent actors. An interesting story woven together through many short stories. Itās about corruption, the streets, fighting for survival, sacrifice.
The comic book would be worth going back for. The stories are deeply moving. Marv is an unstoppable force. Probably my favorite of the stories. Amazing quotes. Great ending. āI love mercenaries, you never have to feel bad. No matter what you do to them.ā

Charles Bronson is a father, a husband, and an architect. An all round great person. Until everything is taken from him. A band of degenerates, break into his home and violate his wife and daughter. This scene is hard to watch. His wife and daughter never recover. He then goes about his life trying to just live as if it was fine. But he continually finds himself drawn towards the streets. Towards the very people that he feels have wrong him. It starts out innocent enough. Defending himself from a mugger. Then he realizes he has nothing left to live for anyways. So he goes out to look for trouble. A man with a Deathwish, and nothing to lose.
Now he only seems to exist to act out an endless war of vengeance upon criminals. He never reaches his blood limit. With each movie, he seems to learn new ways to enact his vengeance. He makes a couple good one-liners. Even though he is a criminal. You will find yourself rooting for him to get away. By the end of the series, having nothing left except his vengeance. Everyone he ever loved is gone. ā you ever have another problem like that. Give me a call.ā It is sad. But itās mostly very satisfying. If you ever felt angry after a home invasion. You would enjoy this movie. The original is the best. But I did enjoy two and three as well. Four and five were less enjoyable. But still a violent fun watch.

Weekend at Bernieās.
Eight out of 10. They shouldāve even gotten more bold with it. Just some goofy, silly fun. This dead man is absolutely haunting this assassin, who is supposed to have killed him hours ago. But he keeps showing up. And he keeps trying to kill him again. But then he sees him again. This really rounds out well. Thereās even a sequel that manages to be really funny still. Great movie. Everyone should watch it high at least once.

These next three are part of the forbidden films series Iām going to do. These are films that have been banned in certain countries due to their imagery or subject matter. This series deals with graphic content and disturbing story matter. Such as murder, genocide, and sexual abuse. Viewers discretion is advised
This will be a set of three. More may be added.

This movie I watched recently really messed me up. I couldnāt even finish it. It filled me with this sense of existential dread.
I think to describe it. Would be to truly believe in God. But to have something being shown to you, that would prove that you are wrong, and that God is dead. Thatās what it felt like. So I had to turn it off.
Then I just thought about if it was ever possible to stop having war. If it is just predestined, that we will forget and repeat this cycle of violence until our weapons finally become powerful enough to kill everyone.
I want to believe that there is a possibility of us getting to survive on this planet without having to kill each other like animals. But I donāt know if it is. I think Iām starting to lose hope in humanity. :Edit: That messed me up. I have finally recovered but goddamn.

This is a journey of chapters. We get to see this flawless instrument travel through time. The many lives that itās touched with the music that it can make. All of these peoples ancestors are now in an auction room. Attempting to purchase this legendary instrument. You will choose one of these people to be the most deserving in your mind. But who will actually possess the legendary red violin? This makes you feel like a grain of sand in an hourglass. Even if the time that we have here is fleeting. The music that we can leave behind, lasts forever.

This movie is about a tire of inexplicable nature and quality. Thereās a group of people observing this tire. They are all here for no reason.
What they witness is truly marvelous, breathtaking, and indeed, incredible. You would just have to see it for yourself. Five out of five

It's basically the Citizen Kane of films about Sentient Tires.
I liked it too.
