Inherently Evil Music

My main hobby is sound design and synthesis. I was checking out a new virtual instrument and was surprised to see this disclaimer on this web page:
Please don't use this program to make music that is against God and Jesus Christ (eg. HeavyMetal, NewAge,..etc..). Realize that the only way to the Salvation is Jesus Christ. Please don't lose this chance and don't make others to lose it!
WTF?! If I do lovely New Age swirling, pulsing ambient pads, then I am going to hell? Christ hates filter sweeps, soulful strings and haunting flutes?
Please pray for my immortal soul, cuz here goes another one... *Swami warms up synth and recorder and sparks a bowl*

when i think of evil music, I think of fascist metal bands like Slayer and Stormtroopers of Death.
but I like those bands
I guess evil music is OK in small doses. as long as its not your only perspective. the key is balance, I suppose

The only possible aspect of music that can possibly be evil is the words. I do not agree with lyrics (but would not censor) advocating violence or demeaming specific groups. Distortion, grunge, saturation and screeching feedback may not be everyone's ear candy, but is hardly satanic.
Note: the author of the website in question needs some serious deprogramming.

there's only a handful of truly evil bands, the likes of slayer and deicide.
which.. coincidentally.. thoroughly enjoy ripping christians apart in their lyrics..among other things. If christianity didn't exist.. I don't know what they would sing about. Thank god for the christians inspiring death metal with their dogmatic slinging. But aside from a few exceptions, generalizing 'heavy metal' or 'new age' 'etc' as against jesus or christ is recockulous.
I suggest we put the subject in a darkened room on mushrooms with Nevermore playing in loop.. that oughta do it.
De-construction

You think I would go against the developer's wishes and play pleasant background music? Isn't that being selfish and unethical?

Hes just a jesus freak, he doesnt realize that you cant really utilize the greatest potential of the program unless you are aligned with good!
So... is the program very well designed? Have you used the frooty loops before?

Haven't checked it out yet. Can't use it as a plug-in.
Played with Fruity Loops and settled on Orion Platinum.
I wonder what instrument Jesus played?

Either way - Jesus the Christ, the critical foundation of the local high school marching band's brass section. No one could stir up those fans at the football games like Jesus could.

That would definately explain how he was able to lug that heavy cross around.

Why do you continue to humor religious fundamentalists? You're obviously more intelligent than that - and them.

Many Christians do seem to prescribe rigid boundaries in all areas of life, even where those boundaries don't apply- like music. It would be interesting to see the demographic breakdown for what percentage of Christians follow various types of music. I'm betting that free form jazz ain't too popular with the Holy Rollers.

What I'm focused on is how the jesus freak is categorizing two WHOLE genre's of music as evil.
I know some music artists ARE evil, and have horrible intentions. How do I know? Because there are so many , and music is a VERY powerful tool to control and manipulate.
However, we are talking about individual artists, not genres of music?
Especially New age!?
Yea....like there is anything evil about a whole soundtrack of thunderstorm sounds

My dad threw out all my CD's when I was a teenager because they were "new age."
Then I bought another one and made him sit down and listen to the music without telling him it was new age, and he loved it. He was quite shocked when I informed him that yes, it was indeed new age music. :p

Evil bands don't exist, nor does evil music. That's just a phrase to make it sound much scarier, but nothing can be truely evil or good
However, I would say people like Burzum, Mayhem and Emperor and more "evil" than Slayer and Deicide, who, to my knowledge, hasn't even burned down their first church or killed their first person (n00bs.) The former has better music too

Preachers will stick their foot in everywhere to try and make us sinners repent. Christianity is like a virus, it infects someone and then they try to spread it around.
