Greetings all. A quick bit of history; growing up psychedelics were my favorite of mind altering experiences. Limited to LSD and Cubensis. More trips than I can count and never a bad experience. Well, 20 years and 4 kids later psychedelics became a thing in my past. I have since taken up drinking exclusively combined with my daily cannabis consumption. For a couple of years I have been feeling like I need a shift in thinking and lifestyle.. and mushrooms have been on the mind. Fast forward to a couple of months ago, I was gifted a small amount of mushrooms and enjoyed them on a hike with my wife (a couple small caps each). I felt as if I remembered all of the good things about life that I had taken for granted. I felt like I found something that had been missing from my life. I still don’t really have much desire for a full trip as time and space are limited and it feels like a safety concern as I am the protecter of my family. But I am realizing the benefits available through manageable doses. Once in a while I would like to enjoy the good feelings from a higher dose without the “oh shit” stage but not sure how to achieve that. Or, maybe I need a full on trip for the benefits it brings (not sure). I am now foraging my own mushrooms and storing them for use. I have been eating about 1-2 little mushrooms (P. Cyanescens or P. Stuntzii) just about every day. Some days none and some days more than others. I enjoy eating small amounts throughout the day as opposed to a larger dose all at once. I have just about completely quit drinking (which has been a concern of mine) and I am feeling much happier, healthier and kind. I know microdosing is done on a very strict regimen but that seems too restrictive to me. I just kind of want to trust my body on this one and experiment. One concern is I can tend to overdo things, like drinking and smoking. I guess my question is, does this practice sound out of balance or excessive in any way? Also, does frequent use reduce the positive effects of psilocybin or cause negative effects? I want to incorporate this into my life in a healthy and responsible way, the way I believe it was intended. Any advice or cautions would be much appreciated. Thank you all who contribute to this amazing community! Here’s a couple pictures from my hunt this morning (just for fun)😊
