Looks dank. :headbang:

I beefed for lunch.  Left over grilled tri-tip, sliced thin and chopped into some fried rice with onions, garlic, sweet peppers, spinach; seasoned with rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds, Lao Gan Ma chili crisp; topped with cilantro, momofuku chili crisp, avocado and nori furikake rice seasoning (not pictured, soft yolk fried egg).

:hamsterdance: Latkes! :woot:

Although these are more like veggie fritters since we add graded zucchini and carrots to the mix, also add a bit of flour to the shredded/drained potatoes (including adding back the settled starch from the drained potato liquid).  Fried up golden brown and delicious!  Served with homemade applesauce, sour cream, a glistening juicy smoked pork weiner with Swedish mustard (aka senap) and a cool crispy ranched out salad to boot.

Fuuuuck yass.

My mom was going to throw out a porcelain doll pumpkin that she was using for decoration but I insisted that she bake it instead with the ridiculous cost of food these days.

It has the texture of baked pumpkin but it has the flavor of peaches mixed with cantaloupe or some sort of melon. This is way better than I was expecting. My mom is going to buy MORE of these next year and make pumpkin pie with it. This would taste WAY better turned into pumpkin pie compared to the regular boring orange pie pumpkins.

I know the feeling!

My old roommate left a bunch of can food in the shared closet/pantry. At first I was gonna donate it but then i was like, "Why dont I just cook it and eat it?"

The most abundant type of food he left is beans. Lots of black beans and some Northwestern white beans. During early Sunday morning, late Saturday night, I cooked the last can of Northwestern white beans with a can of pinto beans that i bought. Mixed in some whipped butter, the last of my Pace Mild Salsa, some pepper and simmered it for about 15mins in a pan on the stovetop. Pour these soften beans into a bowl, then added 3-pepper jack cheese, pepper, precooked turkey sausage that i lightly cooked on the stove (stopped since the beans were done) and lots of sour cream. I ate it just like a soup. Damn, it was good! It was kinda like a cheesy Santa Fe bean burrito. Its amazing what a little cooking and extra ingredients can do for a couple cans of plain, bland beans.

My next cooking adventure will be cooking the black beans (my least favorite bean). My last attempt went OK but i think this method i did here will probably work the best. :sadyes:

I recently made a bean soup for my hunting buddies. With some diced onions, a red pepper and a carrot, and flavored with paprika, mint, savory and black pepper. Also added 2 jars of canned beef. Came out great, I even ate 2 bowls, but the gas afterwards was a bit too much, which is why I usually avoid legumes.

Crispy fried shells, heaps of cheese and lettuce puffin' 'em up, but not sure I'd ever have thought of them as "puffy tacos" until you came along!

And here we have raspberry cream cheese stuffed jalapenos with bacon topping in the foreground, and a a salami, bacon, red onion and fresh jalapeno pizza drizzled with honey in the background.

This particular pizza joint, Toppers, also rocks a "pizza cookie", which is a fancy way of saying big ass fresh baked cookie.  They have a dark chocolate oatmeal one which is really good, but tonight we tried the white chocolate macadamia nut version, with vanilla ice cream of course!

Panko and Pecorino Porkchops with Perigord truffle Potatoes

First I made truffle butter with fresh black truffles and good butter.
Roasted the potatoes in a small amount of it. When they were pretty much done cooking, I mixed in more truffle butter and smashed them up a little. Put back in the oven to stay warm while I fried the porkchops. Then another dollop of truffle butter when plated.
Capturing the flavor of cooked, warmed and raw truffle.

The chops were dredged in egg, then a mix of panko, grated pecorino romano, rosemary, salt and pepper.
Fried in olive oil.
